I met Karen nearly 15 years ago thinking my father was in need of Power of Attorney. Karen quickly assessed he was in need of a Guardian & Conservator as his mental capacity was "deminted". She walk through the process with my brothers, sister & I, insuring we understoood the process. Ms McDowell's service on my behalf over the past 11 years has been exemplary. Her guidance through my lengthy, ofttimes difficult process was what I needed, never having had experience with the court system. Aside from that, and perhaps most important to me, her compassion for all parties concerned w...as why I keep returning to her when I need legal help. It's about doing the right thing with Karen, and that resonates with me. At the same time she doesn't let you forget that she is your advocate and will fight for what you deserve. I also appreciated her patience with me. Though her rates are quite reasonable, my unemployment sometimes made payment difficult. I really appreciated that. I will not hesitate to call on her again should the need arise.

Karen quoted me a price for my divorce that doubled before the case was over. She was more concerned with the rights of my ex, than with mine. She prepared and filed paperwork for my ex. The paperwork she filed for me for the same court appearance was wrong. She told me that it was ok for her to file... his paperwork because she did not charge me to do it! She later tells me that I should know that I gave consent for her to do file his paperwork. Why on earth would I do that?????? Complete betrayal of my trust! I asked for her resignation before the completion of my case! She never knew what was going on with my case without "researching it" at an hourly charge. She did not prepare or file my paperwork in a timely manner. Horrible!!!!!!!!!!!‎
