Steve is third generation Colorado native and received his bachelors and masters degrees from the University of Colorado Masters Program and his juris doctor degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School.

 

Before attending law school he taught English at Skyline High School in Longmont for 11 years.  Since graduation from law school he has practiced law for more than 20 years and has focused on estate planning, asset protection planning, business planning and special needs planning for the past fifteen years.

 

He is a member of the Esperti Peterson Insitute for Advanced Estate Planning and WealthCounsel and is the author of the authoritative book on estate planning: Your Legacy, Meaningful Estate Planning.

 

He practices in Arizona and throughout Colorado, but lives here in Greenwood Village with his family.

Outstanding Service
I work with many clients in developing their retirement and savings goals. I partner with Steve as his knowledge, professionalism, and expertise in the field of estate planning has proven to be very valuable to my clients. Most of my clients have either not established a legacy plan or their plan is outdated. I have comfort in knowing that I can refer my clients to Steve and his office will provide them with the best counsel. Explained the process in terms that we could understand.
Steve explained the estate planning process in terms that my wife and I could understand. Making decisions to protect and guide our estate were much easiser than I expected. I don't know why I put it off so long, but I feel great knowing that we have our estate planning up to date.

I would recommend Steve without reservation!
I am an estate planning attorney and have known Steve for over 15 years. I have reviewed several of his documents, have discussed estate planning matters with him at CLE events, and have visited with him at his office. Steve is both knowledgeable and genuinely interested in his clients. I have actually referred clients to Steve when they came to me and there appeared to be a conflict of interest in my representing them. Steve has an excellent reputation in the community and is well respected by his colleagues and clients alike..

Excellent legal service
My family & I were very pleased with the legal advice & services provided Mr. Steven Owens. We met with Steven to discuss living wills & trusts for our family. When we set up our appointment with Mr. Owens, we initially expected our case to be complicated & very expensive. However, Mr. Owens put us at ease by giving honest feedback with what we needed as opposed to trying to convince us we needed a number of extra documents that are not necessary for our case. In other words, he did not try to push his agenda but was more concerned with our situation & how he could be of assistance. If you want an attorney who is knowledgeable, caring, easy to work with and reasonably priced, then Mr. Steven Owens is someone who comes highly recommended.
