I have been involved representing health professionals for 47 years and in over 2000 cases. I am Board certified in Administrative Law. For diversion, I ride cutting horses and raise cattle and enjoy my grandchildren. We sponsor two grade school age children in Uganda through the African Children's Choir and I have traveled to Mexico, Appalachia, Honduras, and Uganda in  mission work. I have been blessed in many ways, but one has been to represent practitioners of th healing arts and assist them with their struggles.

Excellent Attorney for ISC hearing
Mike Sharp has represented me in. 3 ISC hearings at the Texas Medical Board over the past 6 years. He is very experienced and knows what to expect and how to prepare to present your case in the hearings. He is very well respected by members of the medical board and also by panel members. I have had excellent results in all my hearings with him. Hiring Mr.Sharp to represent you is an excellent choice!!!

Professional and Gifted Attorney
Professional and excellent attorney that has demonstrated great results for winning cases for me over 10 years. He presents his cases with descriptive facts and brilliant definition. I would highly recommend Atty. Sharp to my fellow colleagues with any medical legal matters. He has shown compassion and understanding for pressures that physicians are under in today's world. He has been indispensable to my practice and family.

Michael is excellent in helping me with Texas medical law. His intimate knowledge of the law and the major players in Austin make him a "must have" in medical board and other medico-legal issues. He is gracious, honest and pleasant to work with.

TMB Representation
I have been in front of the TMB one time. Thankfully, I was recommended to call Mr. Sharp and am I glad I did. On very short notice (5 days before the hearing), Mr. Sharp took my case and quickly prepared me for what was to come. All in all, the TMB dismissed the complaint against me and I owe Mr. Sharp an extreme amount of gratitude. He is extremely knowledgable, intelligent and calm. I will not hesitate to call on him again if the need ever arises.

Best State Board Attorney in my opinion
I am a high volume lasik surgeon in Dallas. I have constantly been attacked by competitors getting patients to submit complaints to the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners. One competitor group not only encouraged a patient to file a complaint against me, but a surgeon in the same group was the consultant for the board on the case. Mike astutely figured out who the consultant was and that he was located in the same city. He caught the board violating their own rule and wrote a scathing letter pointing this out. Long story short, he turned what could have been a serious reprimand into a finding of no violation. I have had other board attorneys in the past but none as intelligent and as good as Mike. He is worth every penny that I paid him for his services and I would never consider having anyone else ever represent me on a state board case. I heartily recommend him to anyone who has any state board issue.

Represented me in an appearance with the Texas Medical Board
No matter how right you may feel that you are and that you have done nothing wrong, to be called before the medical board for a complaint still makes me and I think most people feel nervous. My carrier chose Mr. Sharp to represent me. I did not know him. I wanted to go straight to the Board and get this problem resolved. Of course that is not how the system works. Mr. Sharp was able to calm my nervousness down by being able to answer my questions, explain how I should approach my defense, make recommendations as to how to make my case stronger in the eyes of the board. He was very knowledgeable about the process, the people that I would be presenting to and the best way to approach them. He was also able to discuss multiple ways of approaching my defense and then together we decided what would be my best defense. I'm pleased to say that the Board ruled in my favor. As noted in my rankings I would recommend him highly.

tmb/tdi representation
Overwhelming odds defeated thanks to Mike's expertise and knowledge...I wouldn't go before either of these boards without HIS representation and counsel...he saved my privelege to continue working at my chosen craft

Strategic, brilliant, experienced lead counsel
I was personal counsel for a client who needed Mike's specialized expertise and therefore was part of the client process. Mike and his superb associate Courtney Newton had great knowledge and experience, prepared the client for all contingencies, educated him on his role and responsibilities, and stayed organized and flexible with the many changes that are inevitable in administrative processes and dealing with health care related legal matters. Mike's good judgment and the respect afforded him by other counsel and decision makers and their staff also contributed to the great result he achieved. Mike and Courtney's office team were always friendly, responsive, efficient and caring. They all took an extremely stressful, complex, lengthy matter for the client to a successful and satisfying conclusion.
