I was pretty overwhelmed with everything going on, and it was confusing with divorce filings both in my state and in my husband’s state (Texas), so I’m sure I might have asked the same question more than once, but Mat was always full of patience, re-explained things for me, and kept it real. He didn’t try to over-promise or focus on the “best outcome” or the “likely outcome”....He made sure to keep me aware of all potential outcomes. I think that is so important. My divorce/custody case was unique because it involved simultaneous filings in two different states, which I guess doesn’t happen all too often. Mat took the time to research the laws to make sure everything was handled appropriately. Also, the Texas divorce filing was not in Travis/Williamson County where Mat offices out of, but Mat agreed to take the case anyway, and travel. Prior to finding Mat, I checked with several other Austin-area law firms, who wouldn’t consider traveling to another county. I was very grateful to find someone as competent and responsive as Mat who was also willing to travel for the case.
