Mr Jones Helped me get my ex out of Travis county ,who mind you has an extensive Criminal history. He got him out within 2 days and was very respectful and very, very easy to get a hold of, kept me updated on everything. If you need someone out of jail and well represented Mr Jones is your man!

In speaking with so many lawyers to help my fathee\r with his cases and jail release I honestly started to doubt anyone's ability to get him out and help defend him. When I decided to hire Richard he told me that he "truly wanted to help us out." The next day he was already advising me that my dad would be released so that he could fight his cases from the outside. I am so grateful for his help. He has a wonderful manner and I appreciate his hard work. I know I made the right decision.

Richard worked on my case for over two years and has also helped me in some probation violations I had after my case was settled. My probation was nearly revoked but due to Richard's diligence he was able to get me out of my "sticky situation". I would highly recommend Richard to any family members or friends. Richard is great at what he does and has a great grasp on how any great lawyer should treat and handle his cases.

In short, I would hire him again without hesitation. Today, my case was dismissed and in 6 months the arrest history will be expunged. (will update here, if possible)

At length: As a first time offender, the whole process was daunting to say the least. I emailed a number of lawyers the morning following my arrest and within what seemed to be no more than an hour, he contacted me. He was also the only one to respond.

In retrospect, I suppose the thing I appreciated most was Mr. Jones' ability to keep my mind at ease. Despite the regrettable fact that I have one of those overactive minds that's always jumping to the worst possible outcome, there was never a point in time that I didn't feel taken care of. Or perhaps even more importantly, I never felt like a nuisance for requesting to have my mind put at ease.

The man is experienced and thusly is efficient with his time. If you don't need to be somewhere, he won't ask you to be. It's been my experience that if you try to relax and trust him to orchestrate the process, you'll have a much better experience.

IMPORTANT: If you have been assigned Mr. Jones, IMMEDIATELY start recording ALL conversations, and save multiple copies of ALL documents and ALL recordings you've made in multiple secure locations. Be nice and discrete even when he is obviously acting against your interests, and he will likely provide you what you need for a retrial (if convicted) and a potential lawsuit against him and/or the court.

Mr. Jones pays for positive reviews on multiple sites, and all calls to his office are recorded. If the recording(s) contains evidence that can be used against Mr. Jones or his legal assistant/secretary, it will disappear and you will never get it. However, if it can be used against you, it likely will in the event that you claim malpractice or ineffective assistance of counsel.

In Williamson County Mr. Jones operates under a financial conflict of interest with the prosecuting court, and he will not advocate for you as much as he acts in the best interests of his career (which means the best interest of the court, his "adversary"). I suspect that Mr. Jones has to request court appointments because few, if any, of his former clients would recommend him.

Although Mr. Jones is well educated (UT Law), and generally understands and is able to apply legal concepts, he appeared to not only not care about my case, but he began to actively prevent me from defending myself effectively (i.e. I would have been better off with NO attorney). I sustained significant financial injured as a result of the baseless accusations against me, and he did not even attempt to prevent it.

After some five months of delays, refusing to even speak to the prosecutor, refusing to provide me my case-file, providing me false information about many topics, using deception to manipulate me and prevent me from speaking with the court, tampering with me as a witness, hanging up on me, refusing to return calls and actively trying to avoid me, etc. (basically your nightmare attorney), I fired Mr. Jones and went with the cheapest attorney I could find.

It is generally a bad idea to hire the cheapest attorney you can find. This other attorney that was far less professionally competent got the charges against me dismissed. Although Mr. Jones refused to take any action that would help my case, he was preparing for sentencing, and I am quite certain I would have been wrongly convicted under his counsel. AVOID at all costs.

Mr. Jones was assigned to me as a court appointed attorney. He treated me with respect and dignity as if I were a paying client. He is one of the best in his field. He took my case and worked it as if I were related to him. Mr. Jones is not only a darn good lawyer, but he is a good man. Period. His kindness and generosity will never be forgotten.

  • Mr. Jones is a Horrible Lawyer

This attorney did nothing for me other than get a warrant issued for my arrest! I had to fire him. I paid him to represent me against some ridiculous false trespassing charges and he said I didn’t not need to attend the court date and then he missed the court date which caused a Fugitive Warrant for my Arrest for not showing up in court! Stress and heartache for seven long months while he delayed over and over. The only communication I had with Mr. Jones about my case was in court for five minutes, after the Judge ordered the bailiff to locate him and ordered him to talk to me! He talked to me for no more than 5 minutes. He would not return my emails or texts. He would not even answer my questions and had no time to talk to me. He kept postponing my trial over and over after I told him to move forward with discovery and set a trial date. He is a poor excuse for an attorney. If the court appoints him to you, ask for other representation. He will NOT fight for you nor will he keep you informed about your case. He could care less about you. I had to fire him in order to move my case forward.

  • Richard Jones is an exceptional attorney

After being arrested in Houston for a failure to appear warrant in Travis county, I hired Richard Jones for legal representation in my case. The court wanted to charge me with a class A misdemeanor, in addition to fines and other stipulations. Mr. Jones was able to get my charge dropped down to a class C misdemeanor with fewer repercussions. During the length of my case Mr. Jones was very knowledgeable, informative, and prompt to communicate when I needed to reach him. I would like to personally thank Mr. Jones for his exceptional services, and give the highest recommendation to anyone who needs a criminal defense attorney in Austin.

  • Misdemeanor Bond and Felony Bond

Originally, I had a different attorney that I met at my first court date. She said she was going to try to get me out on personal bond. I was denied personal bond with that first attorney. I was in jail for 2.5 weeks before Richard Jones came to visit me. He told me he would do his best. He said because of my situation there was a way to get me out, and he did. It was very reassuring. My case has been pending since then as a misdemeanor and last week I went to check in with pretrial services. My officer told me that I had missed a court date and there was a warrant. The charge had been enhanced to a felony because of my extensive criminal background in other states. They took me into custody and my pretrial officer called Richard Jones' office and told them. Richard Jones went to talk with the judge about getting me back out. I was only in jail for 3 hours before I was released. I would recommend Richard to anyone seeking jail release and representation on a criminal case.
