Previously, he covered telecommunications and intellectual property as a journalist on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., worked for Fannie Mae in governance and compliance during the housing market recovery, and was involved as an attorney in large-scale litigation and government investigations. He has been practicing law in Austin since 2013.

He holds a B.A. in Journalism from the University of Washington in Seattle, where he earned national recognition from the Society of Professional Journalists as an opinion writer and from the Associated College Press as Editor-in-Chief of The Daily.

In his spare time, Mr. Charnitski enjoys playing guitar, running, rooting for the Washington Huskies, and attempting to tame his back yard with his wife.
