Perfect Lawyer? Yes.

Jamie Spencer took care of a potentially life-shattering shoplifting charge for me with the utmost finesse. I was so bowled over with his service that when my son was caught with marijuana and paraphernalia, I immediately contacted Jamie. I have worked for attorneys, so I have an idea of how they wor...k, of their ethics and organization. I have used at least two attorneys for personal business who did not get me what was agreed to. I can finally say from personal experience that there are excellent attorneys in the world who do the job, and Jamie Spencer is most definitely at the top of the list. I was caught shoplifting at the local grocery store, a first (and last) offense. I was of course horrified. I googled "shoplifting lawyer Austin" and the first hit was Jamie Spencer's fascinating blog (blog.austindefense.com). I read his blog posts, including those under "theft/shoplifting" and was immediately put at ease by his writing ability and knowledge and experience. I was impressed with the effort to create such a helpful resource for those in trouble, as well as one that proved almost too interesting to stop reading, not to mention that he knows how to get his blog to appear first in a google search. I called him and immediately got an appointment. He was friendly and straightforward with a clear organized mind. His experience definitely shone as he explained what it all meant, what to expect, what he could offer me, and what I would need to do. He also offered me a payment plan. My most important need, aside from having this handled in the best possible way, was for absolute secrecy. NOBODY I knew could know about this charge (and they still don't). This is one of the main ways that this experience proved to be - dare I say, almost pleasant? Another thing is I needed someone to truly handle this problem for me. I am extremely busy managing not only my life but the lives of several others, in addition to work. Jamie needed me to do a few things to help him with the case, mainly provide a narrative of what happened and some reference letters. Later I paid about $200 in court costs and took an online course on why people should not steal, which was actually quite interesting and gave me a couple things to think about. I shoplifted in August of 2010 and the case was closed by April of 2011 with a dismissal. During this time, I went to court twice: The first time was the mandatory booking. The second time, I met Jamie at court. I was there maybe one hour, perhaps two. The judge wasn't even there; Jamie had me meet with to a court official or prosecutor for less than a minute while this person recited an obligatory directive, to which I of course agreed with a smile. And that was it for me. Jamie did the rest. Jamie is a friendly, charming and forthright person who tells you the way it is, tells you exactly what you need to know and do, and does it in the most courteous, professional way possible. I never felt shamed in his presence for stealing. He answered all my questions. Also, I must say that his assistant Makenna is a down-to-earth dynamo. I cannot recommend him enough to others. Do yourself a favor and hire Jamie; you will be thankful you did.

Excellent attourney. No compaints! Best possible outcome for a case!

Jamie Spencer is an excellent lawyer. His knowledge of procedure and law really shows as he talks you through everything. This was my first offense for anything, and I was really nervous, but after one meeting my fears were sated, and I was confident that with Mr. Spencer's help that I could make it ...through. Well 6 months later everything is being wrapped up, in the best possible outcome for me. His assistant Makenna also deserves much praise. I'm not sure where the bar for legal assistance is, but Makenna far exceeds that. At any point when they were open I could call and get a very timely response about any questions I had. Overall I've heard that our legal system is a nightmare, but with Jamie Spencer as my attorney my experience was overall positive. I think beyond his experience it's his social charisma which helps make him a good attorney. He talks in such a manner that is uplifting, and from what I've seen in court he has a very positive relationship with other lawyers and judges, which is a god-send from the air of superiority you usually get from lawyers. I have no complaints, and I think you should pick up the phone and see if this guy can help you with your legal problems. You'll thank me later.

Great Lawyer

I had never been in any trouble until my arrest in April 2010 for sale of alcohol to a minor. When I did some research on possible outcomes of my case, I kept seeing that deferred adjudication was what most people in my situation settled with. I found Jamie online and emailed him my circumstance, a...nd he responded within the same day wanting to meet me and talk in person. Jamie was very knowledgeable and explained everything in detail that he could do for me as my attorney. He expressed why deferred adjudication may not be right in my situation, and went through every option with me, including outcomes of taking my case to trial. In the end, Jamie got my case dismissed and I couldn't be happier! Mr. Spencer was very patient with me during my case, took payment in installments because of my financial situation (I am a full-time student that works part-time), and even gave me a student discount. I got extremely lucky finding him online and have already recommended him to a couple of close friends with cases pending. I would definately use him again if need be.
