I don't pay AVVO to have the "PRO" designation with my contact info; in fact I do no advertising at all. I'm casual and do not take many cases; however the ones I do take get my full attention. You won't find me in a suit (unless just out of court) and I don't expect you to wear one either. I read, write, and speak Spanish (but a bit rusty). You can call me on weekends or early evenings and if here I will answer, and can meet. I will do interesting cases anywhere in Texas. I've made appearances in 75+ counties. I am an elected director of the State Bar been a law professor and I've always been a fighter. I served on the Professional Rules Committee and the State Commission on Judicial Conduct and am currently a part-time judge.

I can screen case on the phone -free . I will tell you nicely if I don't think you have a good case; You may not want to hear that, but it's better than spending your money and losing. I may not take your case for other reasons, but if not, I will find you an attorney who I think would be better for you. Rockport & El Paso have some great attorneys, and some bad ones.

Exceeded my expectations

I hired Steve for a complex child custody case in 2018. It took just over 5 years but Steve won my case. I was awarded sole and file custody of my daughter. Throughout the years, Steve went above and beyond for my family. He is extremely responsive, knowledgeable, and straight forward. I highly recommend him.

Best Child custody attorney

Very in tune with every aspect of the law. Works hard to help clients get what they want and deserve. He is very welcoming and understanding to clients. Hopefully, I do not have to ever see court again but if I do, I will be reaching out to Mr. Fischer. Also, he is very military-friendly.

Outstanding Attorney

Mr. Fischer is an excellent attorney. I have never needed legal services before, and, as a result, my understanding of law and court procedures is limited to what I have seen on television. He patiently explained my legal options and helped me through a very difficult time. I am very impressed with his professionalism in and out of the courtroom. During my case he was quick to identify anomalies in the legal paperwork from the opposing side, and was very professional when pointing them out during the hearing. He was calm and collected during the time he represented me in court. He is extremely proactive and can anticipate what legal move needs to be made. Mr. Fischer will not beat around the bush or sugar coat anything. He is a straight shooter and gets to the point quickly and efficiently. I am very impressed with his patience, because even though I am an educator I know almost nothing about the law. He took the time to help me understand what was going on. Communication with Mr. Fischer exceeded my expectations. If I called him, I didn't have to navigate a phone-maze. He will answer. I butt dialed him by accident and he still answered and let me know he was in a meeting. He promptly responded to any text messages or e-mails I sent his way. I have already referred a friend to Steve Fischer and highly recommend him to anybody who needs legal assistance. He will treat you with respect and dignity.

Attentive

I needed a Family Law attorney beginning this year. I consulted various attorneys but none stood out like Mr. Steve Fischer. Right away, he asked me what reasons were I was hiring him for, making sure was a moral and as well for the safety of my child. I hired him in April of this year, and lasted through till June of this year. He was attentive of the other parties attorney and any forms needed a signature. He advised me through the process, but always had an “open ear” to what I wanted and respected it.

Gets it done

After a brief phone consult about my case, Steve immediately took action. I knew right away I found the right attorney to represent me. He gets it done without all the BS. He doesn't drag anything out. He is on top of his game and always available. Steve handled my case from start to finish in 6 weeks. Knows his stuff in a unique way

Yes Steve knows the law, but more over he knows how to anticipate how the dominos could fall after taking an action or inaction. He is excellent at getting back to you quickly. His communication seems to go along way with other counsel too, opposing and otherwise. He was working a huge case while also working on my smaller case. He still took lots of time and attention when I know he had other plates in the air. His communication is probably what lead to his numerous relationships in the legal community. Those can serve him and you well. His experience is in high quality as much as it is long in time.

Above and Beyond

An extremely wonderful & knowledgeable individual who actually cares about your case. We felt it in just the short time my family and I got to know him. I only wish there was more he could do to help with my case. I know he did all that could which was even more than the two previous attorneys ever had. Jeff Rago & Troy Brown. Our Daughter

Our situation is a rare case. I do not wish to go into the details because no one in this situation is the enemy [I am not making any attempts to portray anyone as such]. The only thing both parties had wanted was what our daughter wanted. This case may appear to be easy, [cut and dry to say the least because of the lack of details in this review] but his case is by far from being easy, nor something Mr. Fischer probably had never seen until now. At this day in age, Mr. Fischer would only take on cases that are special, he took our case. We were able to lock in what would be best for our daughter, and visitation with her father. Mr. Fischer achieved a small victory for our daughter to ensure that both parties are on the same page, and ensuring where our daughter wanted to live.

Practical, persistent, and purely professional

Mr. Fischer is a different kind of lawyer in a sense that he does not require you to break the bank for his extensive knowledge as an incredible attorney. Mr. Fischer will be up front and honest about every aspect revolving around your case, just as he was during my case. A different kind of lawyer

Mr. Fischer is a different kind of lawyer. He is not like most lawyers who only want your money. He will be honest and upfront about everything involved with your case, as he was with mine. He does not waste your time nor your money and only wants the best outcome for you. With my divorce case, he told me from the beginning exactly what would happen and was honest in everything he had to say. He always responds to your questions in a timely manner.
