I was ill prepared for my appeal hearing with the ALJ....For over two years I maid every effort to submit a bevy of evidentiary documents, medical records, and even eviction notices. I met my lawyer on the phone the day before the hearing for about 10 mins & then on the day of for 10 mins before the hearing. I feel that my case was extremely mishandled, and the rudimentary negligence showed by my lawyer way quite sad. I consulted with other law firms for second, and even third opinions on my case given all the evidence and was told this should have been a "slam dunk case." Being a serviced connected disabled combat veteran since 2003, it had been my prerogative to seek the SSA's help or not, which I did not because I wanted to work....now that their help is seriously needed; the lawyers at Heard & Smith who were supposed to represent me... failed to do so because apparently their time was more important then properly preparing a client who had no idea of what to expect from the hearing. Now despite the fact that my case is still on going, for your firm to just up and quit on your client, is beyond reprehensible...it's down right irresponsible. I would discourage anyone especially my ARMED FORCES brothers' and sisters' to please consider seeking legal representation elsewhere especially if you are in serious need of assistance.

I am only past the turn down by an ALJ and haven't heard anything from this company. I made the call to them and NO lawyer will speak to me about my case. The only time I every spoke to a lawyer was right before a hearing and at the hearing. I have had 2 attorneys at two hearings with the second one with NO ONE knowing including the judge what we were all there for. Then the second hearing was impromptu because they could find no info from the first hearing. So I didn't have a prepared attorney to go thru another hearing but we did it anyway. I feel so cheated and then not giving access to speak to the attorney in the next step of the process I am just tired of the whole thing. Am now searching for another firm to handle my claim. NO ONE at this firm seems to care anything about me and my health or my case. I would avoid like the plague. I have been pursuing this since 2013 I think. Too tired to carry on with this group.

Over 20 years ago, My mother suffered long without a income, but after Mr. Heard got a dear friend mother SSN benefits and she referred him to me for my mother it seem like those long years of Mother suffering turned into a few short months . Thanks Attorney Heard a grateful daughter. Thats why I never forgot Him and now seeking to use Attorney Heard for myself.

his office took immediate action on my sons disability appeal. Every phone call was returned in a timely manner, staff did not talk down to us and the representation at the appeal by Mr Brown was excellent. I have recommended this firm .

John is the best Social Security Lawyer in the country. He has established a great office staff who cares about clients and works hard on their cases. John has helped many of my clients and I always get great feedback about the results he gets for them. I recommend him highly.
