I was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on a Military Base, and was the first son of my two amazing parents. My mother was from Chicago, Illinois and my father was from Cherokee, Iowa (but spent most of his upbringing in Kingsville, Texas). My father was a Captain in the U.S. Army. I grew up on Army bases in Indiana, Coloroda, and West Germany (prior to the German-Russian wall being torn down in the late 1980's). After my father was honorably discharged, my family continued to move around the country, exposing me to many cultures and experiences in Florida, Oklahoma, California, New Mexico, Missouri, and Texas.
I graduated high school from Cy-Fair High School in Cypress, Texas (outside of Houston) and was awarded the Derrick Eakin Memorial Scholarship. I used the proceeds from that scholarship to attend the University of Texas - Austin, where I concluded my studies in English-Creative Writing, Anthropology, Spanish, and Business in 2003. I received my Bachelor of Arts in three years.
I enrolled in Texas Wesleyan University School of Law, which is now Texas A&M School of Law. I succesfully completed my Juris Doctor, and was admitted to practice law in the State of Texas in 2007. While in Law School, I was nominated and served on the Texas Moot Court Honor Society, and elected and served as the president of Delta Theta Phi, International Law Fraternity. I worked part-time at the D.J. Kelly Law Library as a Circulation Clerk, clerked for the Tarrant County District Attorney's Office, and worked part-time for the criminal defense law firm of Kearney | Wynn. I also tutored at-risk children at Paschal High School in anticipation of standardized testing.
In 2007, I opened my law office on the river walk of San Antonio Texas. In 2009, I incorporated as The Mohr Law Firm, PLLC. Our office is now located in the Historic Milam Building on 115 E. Travis St. Suite 1500, San Antonio, Texas 78205. As an Attorney, I have focused my efforts on State and Federal Criminal Defense, Family Law, and Estate Planning / Probate.
I was raised Catholic and I am the oldest of five brothers, including Ryan, Kyle, Tyler and Eryc. Ryan is a financial broker. Kyle served in the 82nd Airborne. Tyler served in the 101st Airborne. Eryc is pursuing a four-year degree.
I am passionate about music, especially playing acoustic and electric guitar. I enjoy saliing on Canyon Lake, bay fishing and deep sea fishing in the Gulf of Mexico, and experimenting with different types of painting. I annually take place in a rapel for the charity Special Olympics and can be seen rapelling down our own building in the fall!
