JL Carpenter is what an attorney should be. She is in class by herself. I was wrongly accused and charged with a felony. I started calling different attorneys to see who would be willing to DEFEND me. All I got from the others was an offer to get me a plea deal. I did not want a plea deal. I want...ed my case to go before a jury and let the cards fall where may. JL took the case, fought with the DA’s office for over two years (because of covid). My case was finally scheduled for trial and the week before JL was able to get the case dismissed and all charges dropped. JL said she would fight for me, and that’s what she did. She was bound and obligated to tell me what my options were. But she never suggested that I take a plea. She fought every step of the way, and won. If I ever needed someone in a foxhole with me, I’d pick her.

I was charged with my first-ever DWI while on probation for an unrelated case that was years old. Jennifer was able to successfully navigate the covid- lockdown mess of a court system that is Harris County, Texas. I don't know if you are familiar with how Texas law works but if you are charged with a...nything above a traffic ticket while on probation, then your probation is immediately revoked (regardless of the validity of the new charge). This means that regardless of the fact that I had not been convicted yet of doing anything, the probation court files a motion to send you to prison for years. Mrs. Carpenter was not only able to secure a dismissal on the DWI and allow me to resume my probation, but kept me out of confinement during the entire process. I originally met JL after a class B misdemeanor charge during the worst time of my life. Fortunately, JL was able to get this dismissed. The second time we worked together was on a felony charge. Again, no conviction thus no felony record. On top of getting her clients the best results, she works to build professional but “down to earth” relationships with them. Often times, attorneys are accused of grandiose attitudes when talking with defendants. She’s absolutely opposite.
