I cannot thank Jim Sullivan as much as I want to for the huge help with my case in Harris County. I was falsely accused of theft at work, fired and charged with theft. I was looking and looking and got a recommendation for this great man from a friend. What started as a call became a face to face conversation. He understood what I was going through and listened to all the fine details of my case. He told me he would try his best to get things fixed. And as he said he would he was by my side every court date making sure I was getting good representation. I am one of the Dreamer kids who was brought here as a child and a plea to a theft charge would’ve resulted in my not ever becoming a U.S. citizen. As a result of his hard work in court date after court date, he got my cased solved and dismissed. I was so glad. I felt the weight lifted off my back. I cannot thank you enough for standing beside me, believing in me and your confidence. You are truly a great man and for that I wanted to thank you.

My son was with his friends at another one of their friend's home when the friend that lived there pulled his dad's guns out and they were taking pictures with them. Well, my son and the other friend left the house with the gun and my son was charged with Theft of a firearm (Felony). On top of that he was on a deferred in another county during the time he caught this case. He also finished a deferred the year before for aggravated assault charge. My son is only 15 and made these stupid decisions. At first we had a public defender and he was doing nothing to help us. They were talking about locking my son up. I searched online and found Mr. Sullivan and so glad I did. First visit he spent like 2 hours talking to my son. My son felt comfortable with him immediately. He also gave my son a book to read which helped him alot "The 6 most important decisions you'll ever make". When it was time for court, Mr. Sullivan told them he felt my son should be home with me and it should be a deferred so that it would not affect his future. He spoke with the prosecutor and stood his ground. Guess what, my baby got his deferred. I just started crying. That is very rare for that to happen. He is also working on the other case and I am confident he will come through. This man truely cares about kids. If you are looking for a lawyer, do not hesitate to contact him.

My 19 year old son was charged with Aggravated Assault of a Family Member in February 2017. Thanks to Attorney Jim Sullivan his case was dismissed by the grand jury only 3 months later.
My son had gone to a party with his girlfriend and a massive fight broke out. Both were pulled in and had to defend themselves. During this fight my son’s girlfriend fell and hurt herself pretty badly, but because they had been drinking she did not realize it at the time. After the fight was over they decided to go home, but thankfully another boy realized that they could not drive and offered to drive them home in my son’s truck.
When they arrived at my home the boy noticed that my son’s girlfriend was bleeding and accused my son of beating her. Of course my son had not done such a thing and both he and his girlfriend began to defend him. The boy would not listen and slashed my son’s truck tire and proceeded to call the police.
The boy left and the situation started a fight between my son and his girlfriend. Both suffer from depression and she is also bi-polar. My son took his knife out and threatened to kill himself. Sadly this was not the first time that my son has attempted to kill himself. When the police arrived they arrested my son and charged him with aggravated assault. The girlfriend screamed and yelled at them that my son had done nothing to her, but they did not listen. I understand that the scene they pulled up on may have caused them to believe that my son had hurt his girlfriend, but he hadn’t.
I was terrified of the consequences and googled attorneys in my area. Jim Sullivan popped up and I began to read all the reviews. I found his website and proceeded to read his bio. He specializes in aggravated assault cases and is a Christian. I was sold immediately so I reached out to him. After speaking with him the first time his main concern was my son’s well-being and his depression. That is when I immediately knew that I had contacted the right attorney.
About a month after hiring Jim Sullivan, my son got himself in trouble again. He was out one night and hit a parked car with his truck. He was afraid and made the wrong decision to not stop to give his information. He went to a friend’s house and the police were able to track him down and arrest him. He was charged with Failure to Give Information, a misdemeanor. At this point Jim rushed to finish preparing and turn in a defense packet on the first case and began working on this new case. Jim managed to persuade the prosecutor to dismiss the new case in exchange for my son performing 40 hours of community service and taking a decision making class.
And then we waited for the felony case to be presented to the grand jury. During this time my son continued to go out with his girlfriend, not realizing that he had a 90 day protective order against him instead of a 60 day like he believed because of the first case. The prosecutor made Jim Sullivan aware of the situation and Jim convinced him not to press further charges. By the grace of God, my son did not incur any further charges. Finally, we heard the good news that the grand jury dismissed the felony case.
Jim Sullivan was a godsend during a time that was most critical to my son’s future. I know how devastating these charges could have been, but Jim immediately invested himself in my son and his welfare. Unfortunately I have had previous experience with the criminal court system in Harris County and never have I encountered an attorney who not only took the time to work on the case, but also took the time out of his busy schedule to show he cared. Jim always took the time to speak to my son about his actions and his future. He recommended books and documentaries for my son to read and view. He always had positive words to say to my son. I highly, highly recommend Jim Sullivan. He is not only a brilliant and gifted attorney, but also a great man who shows compassion and understanding for those that make mistakes.

When our 15 year old child was faced with a serious felony offense, possession of child pornography, we did not know where to turn. Through research on Houston attorneys specializing in Juvenile Justice, we located Jim Sullivan. Based on his credentials and outstanding reviews, we contacted him regarding the situation. From the beginning, even before charges were filed, Sullivan provided excellent counsel. Even though it took a year for the police to conduct their investigation, he was continually available to answer questions and offer guidance. During this time he also listened to and advised our child not only regarding his situation, but on actions to take to help turn his life around. While not minimizing the severity of the situation, Sullivan nevertheless provided hope.
Throughout the court sessions, Sullivan always had our child’s best interest at heart. Given there was no question regarding guilt, he was very frank about potential outcomes and offered strategies to minimize repercussions. Even though the State would not drop the case, Sullivan was able to persuade the Court to take into consideration our child’s sincere remorse, professional counseling, probationary reports, school achievements, and community involvement. Through his representation, our child received deferred prosecution, and following the sealing of his records, an opportunity for a normal life.

I contacted Jim Sullivan about a Burglary of a Building case my son received in February 207. I was so upset and didn't see no way out of this and just new my son future was over. During our initial conversation I told him what the case consisted of and he asked me about my child and told me what he can do for us in court. When we went to his office and he talked to my son for about 2 hours. During that 2 hour visit he not only spoke to him regarding the case he spent most of the 2 hours informing him that yes you made a mistake, but this don't have to end of your life, but the beginning of the rest of your new life. He gave my son a book called "The Six Most Important Decisions You'll Ever Make" to read to help him in his new path. My son and I actually read the book together and it's very good. We arrived for court Wednesday, 04/05/17 and my son received a " 6 month Deferred Adjudication" so October 6, 2017 this nightmare is completely over on a case that was a Felony 2 and carried up to 2 years state jail time. This was on our FIRST court appearance and we never had to approach the Judge as he mentioned to me in our initial conversation. There others that was involved in this same case their court dates were reset to May. April 5/2017 not only changed by son like it changed mines. I can't tell you enough how Jim Sullivan is so highly recommended by me.

I would like to thank you for all the effort that you have put into my case. You are a really determined and motivated attorney. My case involved possession of child porn. My charges was broken down to an obscenity charge. The number of years that I would have faced with the charge of possession would had been from two to twenty years in prison, and I would have had to register as a sex offender for the rest of my life. Instead, now I have deferred adjudication probation for only five years and my record can be sealed five years after I finish probation, which I am of course going to hire you for it. You saved my life, I cannot thank you enough. I will for sure recommend you to others.

Jim Sullivan comes highly recommended as he represented my son which is a juvenile. My son was in trouble for an assault case and stolen car. Pizza time with my son and explaining him that it is understandable that juveniles do make mistakes and gave him awesome advice as our cases went on. There was true intentions behind mr. Sullivan's advice. He was there to help, mentor and explained that it was up to my son to take his advice and not make the same mistakes. We are very thankful that we chose him to represent us and encourage any other parents that face the same situations to hire him. One of our sons cases were successfully dismissed and we are still working on the other one. Thank you Jim!

Attorney Jim Sullivan is a down to earth, personable and knowledgeable first rate attorney. I chose Jim because of his integrity, small size practice, numerous favorable reviews and sincerity to do his best to represent our adult son with two criminal cases (marijuana & controlled substance) that were charged against him from 2016. It proved to be a wise decision to hire him. He had the cases totally dismissed without a trial setting in a short period of time after hiring him. Our son has a history of well documented mental health issues from medical professionals. Sullivan is very familiar with the mental health issue and how it impacts our son. He thought outside the box and used that knowledge to our son’s advantage which seemed to be an impossible situation given the fact that my son had previously participated in a pretrial diversion program for a marijuana case. He also encouraged my son to stop self-medicating with illegal drugs and to stay away from this group of “friends” that got him into trouble, and my son took his advice to heart. We highly recommend using Sullivan.

After some strong arming by the fire marshall's office for my son's felony arson case, I was so nervous and looked up Jim Sullivan. I hired him based on his results, and I could not be happier that I did! He got my son's case on the next docket, after an attempt at delay from the DA. My son was home within 24 hours after his unnecessary arrest and trumped up charges. Mr. Sullivan got to work, and on my son's next court date he was given a deferred option that will take this off his record with 6 months of supervised good behavior! Thank you Mr. Sullivan!!
As if that was not enough, Mr. Sullivan sat down with my son and gave him some very good advice about where he should head with his future. My son is now excited to learn more about the areas he mentioned, and I appreciate Mr. Sullivan going beyond his lawyer job description and being a mentor!
