I have been Board Certified as a specialist by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in the area of Juvenile Law since 2004. Currently, in Texas, I am one of only 38 such lawyers in private practice.
I grew up in Nashville and in 1987 moved to Texas to attend Baylor University where I studied Journalism, Latin American (Spanish) and Asian Studies (Japanese) at Baylor University. I graduated with honors in 1990. I then lived in Mexico City and traveled throughout Mexico prior to entering law school. In 1993, I graduated from South Texas College of Law. I have been married to my wife Araceli for 25 years. We have 2 children and worship in a Catholic church.
If you need a defense attorney to represent you, your child or a loved one, call me and let me know how I can help.

Jim and I worked opposite one another when I was a prosecutor for Harris County. I watched him compassionately represent a client with a mental illness. I can't say anything about Jim that hasn't already been said. He's an outstanding criminal defense lawyer. He's smart, hard-working and professional. He is well regarded by his peers. I endorse him without hesitation.
