Concise and straight forward

I retained Bob to help me get my law license reinstated. He was quick to cut through the chaff and get to the heart of the matter, and what needed to be done to accomplish the goal. As with all clients, he permitted me the opportuntiy to do most of the legwork to keep my fees and expenses to a minimu...m. Along the way, he gave great advice on how to proceed with the case, deal with the stress, and properly prepare the case for trial. With Bob's professional advice, the trial went smoothly and quickly, with fantastic results. I would recommend Bob to anyone who needed advice or representation in any area of professional ethics and discipline. Truly a Godsend!

Texas Board of Law Examiners attorney

Bob, whom I refer to by his first name because we truly became friends during his representation of me during my character and fitness determination before the Texas Board of Law Examiners, (which resulted in a license to practice law despite a serious problem with alcohol during law school, without ...the necessity of attending a hearing before the Texas Board of Law Examiners) is a wonderful attorney not just because he achieves favorable outcomes, but because of the way he operates as he goes about doing so. I performed ample research before hiring him, both word of mouth including a referral from a judge and extensive internet research. Immediately on meeting him I felt at ease and in the hands of an expert. He clearly had contacts that I felt would be worthwhile in terms of lawyers in the community, by whom I'd already learned he wasextremely well known and respected, and he turned out to be very familiar with the individual members of the Board of Law examiners, whom he knew on a first name basis, all of which I felt at the time, and indeed did later come to be, extremely helpful to the the favorable resolution of my case. In addition to quickly setting my mind at ease (a matter of no small moment), Bob instantly began giving me crucial advice that would prove vital months later to my case, and he kept in touch with me by phone several times a week, as did his staff. I valued tremendously knowing that he was on top of my client matters at all time, receiving updating emails and voice mails and phone calls at extremely regular intervals. And all of this for a very reasonable price. And Bob's staff are all experts and extremely proficient, and treated me with the same respect and consideration and attentiveness, greeting me by name as I walked in the calming office door, sending me updates via email and calling me regading developments on my case; and I rarely had to wait more than a couple of minutes to see Bob if I had an appointment, and more than once I dropped in unannounced and saw Bob almost immediately without one. Which is quite amazing considering the stature and demands of his criminal practice trial docket and client list. I have met a lifelong friend in Bob, and would certainly recommend him and his staff wholeheartedly to anyone with an issue before the Board of Law Examiners. Not only is he a master of his craft, he is a fascinating and empathetic person who puts all of his efforts behind each of his clients, if his work with me is any indication. If you find yourself with an issue before the Texas Board of Law Examiners my sincere suggestion would be to highly consider retaining the services of Bob Bennett.

This was an interesting case because we were trying to keep the Texas BOLE from making a determination that the client had a chemical dependency. The BOLE has a rule of thumb that if you are not clean for two years prior to your application, it will be difficult to not have a fitness hearing. At the hearing, the likely outcome will be a probationary license from the Texas Board of Law Examiners. Please keep in mind that each case is uniqure and under these circumstances what works with one applicant may not work with another. We have had clients who are in total remission and the Texas Board of Law Examiners still wants to classify the declarant or applicant unfit but eligible for a probationary license. Application of the DSM IV is important and expert testimony may be necessary. it may be necessary to agree to a probated license without a hearing.

Hearing for Preliminary Determination

Bennett represented me in a Character and Fitness hearing before the Texas Board of Law Examiners. I was sent a letter of a preliminary determination that I did not possess the good moral character necessary to practice in the state. Long story short, Bennett did a great job formulating a strategy fo...r showing that I currently possess the good moral character to practice, which allowed me to get a favorable ruling. His knowledge of the hearing process and familiarity with the panelists, combined with his years of experience make him a great option if ever you are in need of such representation. I'm glad that I decided not to go in alone, and even happier that I hired Bennett.

Excellent attorney for representation in moral character problems with the Texas Board of Law Examiners.

I retained Mr. Bennett to represent me in a licensing hearing with the Texas Board of Law Examiners. I had some youthful indiscretions in my past with which the Board took issue. I am glad to say that the Board recently awarded me an unrestricted law license. I doubt I could have gotten this result w...ithout an attorney of Mr. Bennett's caliber. I found out about Mr. Bennett's practice when I was looking for an attorney on the Internet. He has authored several articles about what to expect when you have a moral character issue before the Board. I appreciated the professionalism Mr. Bennett displayed as my attorney. I could tell he was working hard to make I had the best possible presentation to the Board. Mr. Bennett was accessible and communicative. He also did a good job of following up with me after the hearing to make sure I didn't have any issues or questions that were not being addressed. I was upset and worried that some of my past mistakes might keep me from practicing in Texas. I had spent a lot of time and money going to law school and taking the Bar exam. Mr. Bennett reassured me that was still in my hands. He gave me a strategy to show the Board that I posessed good moral character, and that my past actions in life were not indicative of my present good moral character. I would recommend hiring Mr. Bennett if you find yourself in a similar situation. He was knowledgable about the process and gave me a clear plan as to how I could show the Board I deserved a Texas Bar license. When the hearing took place, Mr. Bennett served as a persuasive advocate. I wouldn't recommend attending a hearing before the Texas board of Law Examiners without an attorney, and Mr. Bennett has over 20 years of experience handling licensing matters before the Texas Board of Law Examiners. Hiring Mr. Bennett turned out to be a good decision, as he got me the result I needed to practice law in Texas.
