Very good law firm

I recently hired Weston Legal when I was sued by Midland Funding. They were very nice and explained everything to me. They were able to get a settlement for me for much less than I was being sued for. I would use them again if I ever needed to and would recommend them to anyone needing this type of a...ttorney.

They settle lawsuits, not fight them.

I was sued by a third party company, and I hired Weston legal to represent me. Weston legal was professional, and the cost of representation was not excessive. Being able to make monthly payments was a relief as well. From my experience, Weston legal is not the type of law firm to “fight” for their c...lient. The burden of proof for any debt is primarily on the plaintiff, and I thought Weston Legal would hold the plaintiff to the fire so to speak. Third party plaintiff’s receive second hand information, so they won’t have access to money orders, checks, or anything tangible to prove a debt is in fact valid. From what I gathered, all the third party company had to do was show documentation that they legally purchased the debt and that was it. Way too easy in my view! But as stated before, Weston legal’s objective is not to “fight” for clients, rather it’s to land on a settlement amount. Settling benefits Weston Legal, and the third party company: Weston legal profits off of the amount I paid for representation. The third party company who paid pennies on the dollar for this debt, gets paid without really having to produce any substantial evidence other than a document showing they own the debt. In the end, after I paid Weston legal for representation, and agreed to the settlement amount. I wound up saving 500.00. 500.00 is nothing to scoff at, but who knows, the case might have got dismissed if Weston Legal truly applied pressure to this third party company. Hiring Weston legal gave me about a year and a half more time, as the legal process played out, and they requested a postponement on my behalf. The staff I spoke to was professional and pleasant, and not having to represent myself or type up documents was a heavy burden lifted. I would use Weston Legal again, if I was sued (hopefully, this was my first and last time facing a lawsuit). I just feel that it’s important to stress that Weston legal’s chief motive is to settle, and not fight for their clients. When you hire a lawyer, you expect them to fight first, and only settle as a last resort. But that’s not how Weston Legal operates.

The best Legal team that get the job done right!

Weston Legal, Michael and his team are one of the best legal firms on providing excellent service and getting results. I hired Weston Legal two times to work on the debt litigation with Velocity Investments. Michael and his lawyers took care of these cases professionally. They went to trials and foll...ow through the case with me until the case is completed. Most importantly, they worked diligently and got both cases dismissed. Weston Legal and Michael’s team really know what they doing. Thank you Michael and Weston Legal.

His Paralegal encouraged me to agree to a judgment even though I had a valid defense.

I was sued by a creditor and I felt that I had multiple valid defenses against the lawsuit. During the sales process, the Weston law firm made it sound like they would help me defend my lawsuit. Once I signed an agreement with them to defend me for over $1000 in legal fees which I have paid in full,... they told me they don't actually raise defenses against a lawsuit in court but rather wanted to me to just sign a judgment that the opposing attorney was offering. The judgment was for way more money than I initially borrowed and was not in my best interest. Beware! They refused to listen to any of my valid legal defenses or raise them in court and now my situation is worse than it was before I hired them. Why is that? Because not only did I spent over $1200 with Weston they convinced me to sign judgment for more than the creditor originally wanted.

Hello - Please contact us so we can address these concerns. The last thing we want is for any client to believe we took their money and did not adequately represent them. We are unable to determine who this is because the review is anonymous. Please call 800-220-4318 and email us at lawsuits@westonlegal.com and reference this review so we can address this with you today. It is not our practice to refuse valid defenses to lawsuits and instead force our clients to sign judgments. The vast majority of all defenses are raised and plead with the court when we file our written answer. After reviewing all of the evidence of all cases the decision is made to consider settlement as an option as opposed to risking a trial on the lawsuit whereby the creditor seeks to garnish bank accounts if they obtain a judgment at trial. If there is a long term payment plan settlement, it often includes an agreed judgment that is not enforced by the creditor so long as payments are being made. Again, please call 800-220-4318 and email us at lawsuits@westonlegal.com and reference this review so we can address this with you today.
