PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:


1988-Present:  Law Offices of Douglas C. Boyer, Houston,
Texas.
Solo civil trial practice focused on state court prosecution and
defense of contested family, commercial, consumer law, real estate and personal
injury litigation.  Past engagements include numerous jury trials, court appointments, expert witness services in
legal malpractice matters, interim supervision of a mid-sized law firm’s family
law department and criminal defense. Additional practice areas include architectural contracts, consumer debt collection compliance, real estate
transactions and general counsel to law firms and small businesses. 


1982-1988: 
Harris County District Attorney's Office, Houston, Texas.
 Entered public service
as Trial Bureau Internresponsible for trial of misdemeanor bail forfeiture cases.  Appointed
Administrative Assistant by District Attorney John B. Holmes, Jr. in late 1982
and Director of Operations Divisionfrom 1984 through 1988, to administer fiscal, inter-governmental and logistical aspects of large state
prosecutor’s office.  Implemented programs for specialized prosecution of domestic violence and child abuse
cases, led several investigations, assisted public relations, legislative affairs, supervised budget, administrative staff and law school internships, improved
payroll processing, and served on various local and regional governmental
committees and boards.  Appointed Assistant District Attorney and received extensive first chair jury
trial experience.


ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE:


2001-Present:  Boy Scouts of America, Houston, Texas.  Volunteer service in several managerial and executive capacities for two of the nation’s
largest scouting units, charted by the Church of St. John the Divine, as well
as regional adult training.  Activities and expertise embrace policy and program development, strategic planning, risk
management, youth training, publications, and adult recruitment and training required
to deliver quality year round scouting programs.  Received executive training and attained
proficiency in the E.D.G.E. ™ method of skills and leadership training.
