I got my case dismissed and my visa in good standing with Mr. Aslett
I want to thank Mr Stephen for helping me on my case. I am an international student and I've been charged with a third degree felony. It was a misunderstanding and Mr. Stephen, as my court appointed lawyer did whatever he could to get the case dismissed. He has been there every steps to explain what...

Ok
From the reviews I'm reading, he seems to be an accomplished trial lawyer. We hired him on a violation of probation charge, and didn't really get a lot out of him. He showed up to court having done no research on the case, he hadn't contacted anyone to confirm the amount of good time already served...
Rebecka was not my client. Her boyfriend was. He was an absconder on a burglary of a habitation deferred adjudication. Despite his poor performance and failure to report for many months, I was able to get him the minimum sentence with full credit for his back time and participation in in-custody treatment programs while on deferred. I did not attempt to try to keep him on deferred because her boyfriend didn't want that, he just wanted to "get the case over with" for as little prison time as possible. With marching orders from the client to negotiate for the minimum possible sentence, that's what I did. I informed him and Rebecka that I had no control over when TDCJ parole would get to his case and that it might take a while for him to be paroled out, but this was as close to a "time served" sentence as was possible given what he wanted. The case took 'three months" only because Rebecka's boyfriend continued to call me and put off when he wanted to appear in court to turn himself in. The DA's Office won't negotiate with absconders, so I could not negotiate for him until he turned himself in three months later. Once he finally turned himself in, the case was resolved quickly and I informed her boyfriend of his back time credit. I can assure you that he was very happy at getting 2 years on a case where the maximum was 20. When Rebecka called me to ask whether her boyfriend was up for parole, I was in the middle of my vacation out of state (the first I'd taken in two years). Despite being on vacation, I took her message and told her I would find out his parole status when I got back. I got back this morning only to find this review. Rebecka, I fail to see how this case could have turned out any better for your boyfriend. He had several motions to adjudicate and failed to report for a long time. He didn't want to remain on deferred. Given all of that, the minimum sentence was the best possible outcome, and that's what I got for him. I even responded to your message while on vacation after the case had been resolved. I wish you and your boyfriend the best of luck after he gets out, but frankly, your expectations for his case were unreasonable and your impatience at my being on vacation was both remarkable and rude.

An Exceptional Attorney
I am extremely impressed with Mr. Aslett and have decided to hire him for my case which is not an easy case. This man phoned me with an answer to my AVVO question and took his time making sure I understood the issues of my case. I have not encountered a more concerned and professional attorney who wa...

Stephen is a Miracle
I recently had felony charges of Injury to a child, facing 5 years in jail. Prior to hiring Stephen as my lawyer, I had a lawyer by the name of Marc Metz who did nothing at all besides accept money and reset my court date. At the time that Stephen took my case it was indicted over to the grand jury a...
