The mediation process helps people resolve disputes without going to court. Mediation is a proceeding, conducted by a neutral third party (a mediation lawyer) who meets with you and the person you disagree with. Mediators are trained to find mediation solutions in all legal disputes. The mediator acts as a facilitator, helping the participants negotiate until a solution is found.

Arbitration - When you want to settle a dispute without going to court, you may benefit from the services of an arbitration lawyer. In an arbitration setting, you and the other involved party select a neutral third person to serve as an arbitrator. Acting in the role of an informal judge, the arbitration lawyer listens to both sides of your dispute and then makes a decision. The process is informal.

Michael P. “Mike” Metcalf d/b/a Metcalf Mediation & Arbitration Services is engaged in the practice of law that is focused on the mediation and arbitration of civil disputes. Judge Metcalf has more than 40 years of legal experience that includes service in the United States Army Judge Advocate General’s Corp, as a District Attorney, District Judge and trial lawyer. Mike has been board certified as a trial lawyer in Civil Trial Law and Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 1991.

A strong record of settling disputes comes from a unique mediation process Mike started. In cases Mike mediates if the case does not settle at the first session, he recesses the mediation and proffers to the parties the opportunity to return for a free two hour round two "wrap up" session.  It is this never say never attitude that has led to a remarkable record of success in resolving disputes.

Sitting as an arbitrator Judge Metcalf believes strongly in hearing all of the admissable evidence and rendering a timely decision based upon the applicale rule of law.
