Mr. Bergen is a partner with the law firm of Griggs Bergen LLP, an intellectual property law firm with offices in Dallas, Texas. Mr. Bergen is a registered patent attorney with a law practice concentrated in the areas of patents, trademarks, copyrights and matters related to intellectual property. Mr. Bergen serves both large and small clients, meeting their intellectual property legal needs. He puts his experience and know-how to work for clients every day, keeping abreast of the latest developments in intellectual property law, and ensuring a high level of competent, dedicated and responsive service.
Located in Dallas, Texas, Mr. Bergen represents clients across the U.S. and abroad. Mr. Bergen's legal experience includes, among other things, patent preparation and prosecution, trademark registration procurement, patentability ("novelty") opinions, infringement and right-to-use opinions, intellectual property disputes, trademark availability opinions, intellectual property audits, due diligence evaluations in intellectual property transfers, trademark cancellation and opposition proceedings, drafting contracts and license agreements, international patent and trademark filings, and client counseling and advising on these and other intellectual-property-related issues.
Mr. Bergen's engineering background provides a solid basis for representing clients who deal with technology in a variety of technical arts. He also has significant experience dealing with Internet and cyberspace-related issues.
Mr. Bergen is licensed by the State Bar of Texas and is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He is also admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas.
