I had this attorney a few years ago, and the results of me hiring her still haunt me to this day. I paid her nearly $4000.00 to defend me. I had never had a criminal record in my life. First off I never got a chance to meet her until 5 minutes before speaking with the judge. She advised me to plea gu...ilty so she could turn the charge into a class C misdemeanor. And this was the first and last visit to that judge. I've never been in trouble before so I took the advice. The second case I had proved more disastrous. She advised me to accept a plea bargain on assault on a public servant. Which it was a small finger scratch the officer received while her and two male officers pulled me out the back of a police car in handcuffs while I was six months pregnant in labor. The judge sent me a letter in the mail to speak with him about the matter, so I showed the letter to the law firm and they advised me not to speak to him. Doing so cost me nearly $ 15,000 later on with misc charges. If I had spoke to the judge it would have been dismissed I later learned from other lawyers. At the time I was working at a hospital in Plano and raising seven children alone without assistance from my husband. She advised against going to trial. So she said taking the plea would be better. This decision has cost me my employment and caused my children and I to be homeless and living in my Suv for months. At this present time I have a felony on my previous clean record and I have been turned down for evey health job I have applied for. I advised anyone reading this to do research when retaining the services of a attorney. And always be advised of your rights. Later on I got a the advice of several attorneys to look at my case they all stated it should have been handled alot better than it was. A few of them knew Ms Grant personally and they told me I made a big mistake in retaining her services. To late now.....
