Ms. Baxter-Thompson is Board Certified in Estate Planning and Probate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Her practice is dedicated to both contested and uncontested probate, trust, and guardianship matters as well as estate planning for clients who want to protect their assets and determine their legacy. Her extensive litigation experience allows her to effectively advise clients on how to limit and protect against the risk of litigation in their estate planning and business decisions. While litigation may be inevitable, Ms. Baxter-Thompson's focus is on resolving the conflict economically and efficiently.
Ms. Baxter-Thompson earned her J.D. from Texas Wesleyan University (now Texas A&M University School of Law), graduating in the top 15% of her law school class. She served two years on Law Review and was elected as an Editor in her second year. Throughout law school she worked for various firms and in her third year clerked for the Chief Justice of the Second Court of Appeals, Hon. John Cayce. In 1999, she earned a Bachelor of Arts with a concentration in International Relations from Austin College in Sherman, Texas.
As a native Texan and life-long resident of Dallas County, she grew up with a family of business owners and operated her own law practice for many years before joining Calloway, Norris, Burdette & Weber, PLLC, in 2012.
