About me

Ms. Baxter-Thompson is Board Certified in Estate Planning and Probate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.  Her practice is dedicated to estate planning, probate and business law, including counseling clients on choice of entity and other related business decisions.  Her extensive litigation experience allows her to effectively advise clients on how to limit and protect against the risk of litigation in their estate planning and business decisions. While litigation may be inevitable, Ms. Baxter-Thompson's focus is on resolving the conflict economically and efficiently.

Ms. Baxter-Thompson earned her J.D. from Texas Wesleyan University (now Texas A&M University School of Law), graduating in the top 15% of her law school class.  She served two years on Law Review and was elected as an Editor in her second year.  Throughout law school she worked for various firms and in her third year clerked for the Chief Justice of the Second Court of Appeals, Hon. John Cayce.  In 1999, she earned a Bachelor of Arts with a concentration in International Relations from Austin College.

As a native Texan and life-long resident of Dallas County, she grew up with a family of business owners and operated her own law practice for many years before joining Calloway, Norris, Burdette & Weber, PLLC, in 2012.  She finds it exciting to assist clients in developing their own business, including other attorneys establishing their own law practice.

  • Marcie Irene Johnson

I have known Brandy for several years. Her commitment to her clients and the community is very impressive. She is eager to stay on top of current trends in the law and I see her often at continuing legal education courses. Very polished and professional, she can take complicated estate planning concepts and explain them in such a way that anyone can understand. I have referred several clients to Brandy and would not hesitate to send my family or my friends to her for any contested estate planning matter.
