Intelligent and Dependable

I hired Mr. Cantrell to represent me in my divorce and attend to issues regarding the co-owned business. I expected to deal with paralegals but was pleasantly surprised to have easy, direct contact with Mr. Cantrell. I always thought you were supposed to hire an obnoxious, super aggressive attorney... - but what you really want is someone to resolve your problems quickly and efficiently. He did that. I don't know of anyone whose divorce went as smoothly as mine. Two years later, the business is doing well and we have avoided some problems that we didn't realize we were heading for (EEOC). I wish Mr. Cantrell were still practicing. I'd hire him again in an instant!

Paid for talk, no action

I hired Garry Cantrell after a very effective interview. He was personable and obviously intelligent. Once I paid him the $5K retainer, he took no action. I chased him for months to finalize some legal matters and create the documents that we agreed were necessary. He simply did nothing. I had no mon...ey left to fire him and hire another attorney, so I had to pull in one of his colleagues to pressure Garry to take action. At that point, he made an appointment with opposing counsel and forgot to give him the document that was the entire purpose of the meeting! I suffered months of financial damage from this one omission alone. After 4 months of inaction, finally asked him to withdraw. He quickly produced all the documents necessary in the most template, generic form possible. The attorney who took over, could not even use them.
