Was arrested in Aug '16 for a probation violation of a DWI from '08. Contacted my previous attny who helped with the case and told me he wanted x amount of money and that they wanted me to serve time for this violation. Decided to contact Doug BC of things I've heard and the outstanding ratings he received from other clients. This wasn't my first run in with law enforcement so I kinda knew my way around, but he well exceeded my expectations. His staff is terrific and very well informed, they advised me of what I needed to do and what our goal was for the outcome of my case. I followed their advice and did as I was asked from his staff keep in mind....I didn't meet and talk to Doug until we went to court the third week of september. That's how up to speed and aware he and his staff are when it comes to what needs to happen and needs to be done! I went to court by 9 am met Doug by 915 and the entire violation was dismissed and case closed by 11 am. I went from they want you to serve time on this case to case closed in about week and a half's time because of Mr Wilder. I've dealt with a few lawyers in my time and by far he was the best and easiest to work with. Without a doubt I would recommend Mr. Wilder and his staff hands down!

I was devastated when I was arrested for a DWI and took the search for a defense attorney very seriously. I did hours of research on Dallas DWI attorneys before interviewing about a dozen in person. After narrowing to just four, one attorney asked who else was in the mix- when I mentioned Doug's name, this attorney said "well I'll be honest, Doug wins cases that I never thought were possible and if I were in your boat I'd pick him". I am sure glad I did. As a very career focused and driven person, I was sure that this event would ruin my chances at getting a highly competitive job or getting into a top grad program. I explained to him my situation, and my concerns and how any conviction for a DWI was just not in the cards for me. He reviewed my case and gave it to me straight the whole time which I greatly appreciated. Given the particulars associated with my arrest, as well as other medical factors, we came up with a plan to try and fight the charge. He warned me that this could take months or years, but that he truly believed this would lead to the best outcome. Over the nearly 2.5 years it took, I rarely felt like I wasn't in good hands. High office turnover made me nervous, the volume of posts to the electronic case management system was at times overwhelming, but Judy (his longtime paralegal) and Doug never made me feel like a random name on a client list. In the end, Doug worked his skill and his magic, and I plead to obstruction of a roadway. I have never been so grateful to have put my future in the hands of someone who could get the job done. Thank you Doug.

I found myself in a bad situation with seemingly no way out. I was referred to Doug and he instantly made me feel like somehow, everything was going to be okay.
Before I met him face to face, he spent about 4-5 hours on the phone with me. Most of it not even directly about business. He let me vent about my circumstantial crisis and provided not only amazing legal advice but great life advice that I follow to this day.
This wasn't my first time in trouble with the law for drug possession and things were not looking good for my case but he managed to dramatically reduce my charges and set me up on a road to recovery.
Due to his diligent legal work and personal level of care he shows his clients, I have been given an opportunity to finally improve the quality of my life.

My name is Amy and I am a Registered Nurse in Texas. I am the first one to admit I am bad about writing reviews. I intend to do it more often, but get so busy and then forget. However, there was no way I could not give my feedback in regards to Doug Wilder! I had a situation last year that had me possibly facing a DUI second. As a nurse, I was petrified. This was scary to begin with and could have had monumental consequences for my career. There were some extenuating circumstances but I didn't think it would make a bit of difference. I was referred to Doug Wilder and from day one I was very happy with his professionalism and responsiveness to me. He was very honest. I was not in a good situation. However he worked incredibly hard for me and because of his reputation in the courts, he was able to work a miracle for me. I know miracles are not always possible, but I have no doubt in this situation, had I gone with ANYONE else, I'd be facing a DUI second. My charges were dropped to an obstruction charge which saved my career and saved me a ton of money. I didn't "get off". I had consequences, but I was happy to take those considering the alternative. When Doug met with me, he saw me as a person and not just a client. He was honest, direct and compassionate. He has since followed up without prompting to ensure that my probation process went smoothly. Picking an attorney is scary and you can be going in blind, but I felt compelled to let others know that Doug Wilder can be trusted with your future. He is forever on my Christmas card list.

Doug filled in for my original lawyer, he did an excellent job. Doug was able to get all of the charges on me dropped. I am so grateful for all of his hard work on my case. I would highly recommend him and his firm to anyone in need of a lawyer.

I hired Doug a few years ago after I read reviews that he was the best in Dallas for DWI cases. From the beginning to the end of the process Doug and his team were pinpoint on their decision making and guidance. Communication was clear and I know from time to time I asked a lot of questions, but he was always there to help : ) I followed his direction and the outcome blew my mind. There are other lawyers in DFW who can represent you in a DWI case, but if you want the best you need to call Doug! I'm not going to go into great detail about my case, but I will say when I thought there wasn't hope he found something and that attention to detail got me a very favorable outcome. There was an article written about him years ago that shows him with boxing gloves around his neck implying that he fights for his clients. It's sooooo true!
I'm sure a lot of people read reviews and try to hire the cheapest lawyer with good reviews. Don't do it. If you want the best to the represent you call Doug. He is a Prize Fighter who will have your back and get you the best possible outcome.
Thank you Doug for representing me and if you ever need anything I will gladly help!

I first contacted Dougs' office after I found out I had a warrant for probation violation. I was in transition back to Dallas county from Denton when I called to see about what I needed to do to end probation. I had failed an interlock test one morning on the way to work and school. I had used my wife's mouthwash since I was out, it was the Walmart brand so I didn't think about the alcohol. It had failed me with a .12! I didn't know how bad I failed, but I knew it would take more time for it to clear than we had. So I went ahead and let my wife drive, causing me to be automatically guilty. I decided to research decent lawyers here on Avvo after having an absolutely terrible experience with the Stanley law firm during my initial DWI. When I first called, I talked to Rebecca. What nailed me was that she seemed genuinely concerned about what happened to me. My first of many lawyers with the same firm the last time around never really listened. So I went ahead and hired them that day. Doug was late the first appointment, but I had been notified already the night before by Rebecca. Had had two major cases that morning so it wasn't a big deal to me. He was very nice, a little on the goofy side, very straightforward, and honest. Never talked down to me or like I was ignorant, like I saw a lot of attorneys do their clients at the courthouse. He also didn't take any flack from the probation office either, even fed it right back. That worries me at first, but I learned that Doug just isn't an attorney to be messed with! He told me that he would more than likely be able to get everything dropped. He immediately had the warrant gone thanks to a personal recognizance bond. Which meant I didn't have to pay any money, but could get in serious trouble for not showing to court! You'd have to be insane not to show to court! I never had to wait long for Doug to show after that day, waiting for probation to do their job was another story though! I went and had my school counselor that I had signed up for classes with that morning, write me a signed statement about how I was not intoxicated. This just wasn't enough to sway the probation officer. So Rebecca initially recommended I take a repeat victim impact panel and sign up for intensive outpatient therapy with her friend Holly Hunter. I was stubborn and didn't don't immediately because I felt like I was admitting guilt. Doug firmly re-recommended Rebecca had prior. So I finally went to the panel, turned out to be a lot more informative than my first in Denton. I also signed up with Holly Hunter. I also learned a lot from that experience as well! She was a great and interesting person that definitely left a mark on me. She too, has quite the reputation in the North Texas legal system. Once I had completed everything, I brought all my paperwork in. Doug got me right in at 9 and three minutes later, everything was dropped!!!! There was always good lines of communication between Doug, Rebecca, and I. Rebecca was always very quick to answer any question I had through the team website and by text. Even after hours she would respond asap! She loaded all of my documents into the system for me so Doug would have them on court day. So very pleased that I found them when I did. They truly went above and beyond my expectations of an attorney's office. They helped me get this giant heap of stress off of my back! If you're looking for a great attorney and legal team, look no further!!!

In November 2013 I was falsely accused of an assault. The complainant stated that I had caused a small bruise to her left knee. The Police was called and a couple of days later I was arrested by Dallas Police Department which was the Department I was at the time working for. By that time I had already hired an attorney who failed to be with me at the time of the interrogation regarding the false accusation. One week later I couldn't afford this one attorney so I ended up hiring another attorney who just kept on telling me to accept the plea that the court was offering me, but since I knew I committed no assault, why would I accept and plea bargain and have an assault charge in my record for the rest of my life?
Lastly, I knew I had to get myself another attorney that will give me a fair result. Someone who I could trust, someone who was not just going to get my money and not work for it.
I contacted another Dallas Police Officer who was also arrested and had hired Doug Wilder as his attorney. This one Officer gave me a great reference. I decided to call another Officer who also knows Doug Wilder and also talked really good about him and how successful his results are. I placed that call to Doug and within a couple of minutes of being on the phone with him I told him I wanted to hire him and to represent me regarding my case. By then I was already living in another city nowhere close to DFW, but the distance was never a problem. Doug worked hard, quick and efficient to help me solve my case. Within a couple of months Doug Wilder had worked with the DA's to look at the evidence and my case was dismissed. This was the best decision I could ever make. I had finally hired the right attorney. If I would've heard of Doug way before, he would've been the first to hire. If I wouldn't have hired Doug I could've faced some time in jail and a fine.
Thank you Doug.

I rec'd my 2nd DWI with child 10 years after my first. For the type of work I do, I could NOT have a felony charge on my record. I met with Doug and was impressed. He was very honest and explained this would be difficult but not impossible. He immediately had me attend AA meetings, attend repeat offender program, attend A Court Class, and get a sober link which I breathed in 4 times a day. My case took a while to finally see a court room which made me stress more but worked in my favor because it allowed me the time to do all the things he asked me to do. I made sure I did it all too!! I finally met with the DA and went before the judge. Doug was not only able to have my felony charges reduced to a misdemeanor but I did not have to do any jail time. Doug & his staff were very detailed oriented & kept me up to date through text, email, phone, & program that I had access to at any time. I highly recommend him to anyone who can benefit from his services. I would have my friends and family use his services, if, god forbid, they got a felony or misdemeanor charge brought upon them. Doug actually cared about me and my case and made sure I knew that.

I was arrested last year on a DWI in carrollton Dallas county, was found sleeping in the back of the car. I failed all the sobriety tests and my alcohol content came back a .21. I hired Doug Wilder and his team and he adviced we decline the plea bargain since it was alittle harsh so we went ahead with the trial option. At the trial Doug was excellent and the prosecution could not prove beyond doubt if i was driving..The verdict..NOT GUILTY..The team has been so supportive especially Ms Rebbecca Burns who was in constant communication through all stages..I highly recommend the wilder firm to anybody who might be going through similar predicaments.. Thank for giving me my life back
