Sheridan Lewis achieved a dismissal in my 2013 Dallas county DWI case. I am very pleased and thankful for Sheridan Lewis and how she handled my case in the Dallas county court system.
After receiving a DWI in Dallas county I began searching for attorneys to handle my case. I went to several big name, tenured DWI attorneys but felt like my case was being handled like a cattle call and they just wanted me to take a deal in the case, pay my legal fees and move on. I also met with some up incoming, “fast talking” younger DWI lawyers that just didn't seem take care of the case on a personal level. I interviewed with six different lawyers and didn't have a good feeling with any of them.
I actually found Sheridan Lewis on Avvo and decided to meet with her. When we first met, I described the situation and told her my desired outcome. Sheridan took the time to get to know me and truly understand the case and it's curcumstances. Right away, Ms. Lewis knew what questions to ask me to help in building a defense case. I could really see a deference from the other attorneys I met with and signed for Sheridan Lewis’ legal services the next day.
My case had evidence against me but also happened to have some significant evidence that was in my favor. Ms. Lewis found these vulnerabilities right away and began to pursue filing motions to suppress within the court system.
During the handful of times I spent in court with Sheridan Lewis, I could tell she was well known, respected in the Dallas county courthouse from the clerks, to the judges and in between.
The fight in this case took about two years, so it takes some time and patience to achieve the result you want sometimes. In the end, I received a conditional dismissal which I was gladly accepted! I truly believe my case wouldn't have been handled as carefully and personally with the other attorneys I interviewed as it was with Sheridan Lewis. Thank you Sheridan!
