About me

Jason Lee Van Dyke, son of Daniel and Susan, grew up in the Detroit-area suburb of Troy, Michigan.  In his early life he was active in the Boy Scouts (earning the rank of Eagle Scout in 1995) and as a trombone and baritone player in his school bands.  He graduated from Lutheran High School Northwest in 1998 and matriculated to Michigan State University later that year.  At Michigan State University he became well known for political activism, and during the middle of his junior year, transferred to the University of Dallas.  Majoring in Politics, he was a member of the University of Dallas moot court team and was the editor of a student newspaper.  He graduated with a bachelor of arts in December of 2003.

Mr. Van Dyke attended law school at Stetson University College of Law starting in the spring of 2004.  At Stetson, he was highly involved in Stetson’s world renowned trial advocacy program and, at graduation, was one of only a handful of students to be awarded the school’s certificate of concentration in advocacy.  As assisted many local attorneys in the drafting of pleadings, motions, and written discovery as a law clerk during his second and third years.  Additionally, he was an active volunteer in the Pinellas County Teen Court program serving as an advisor and judge on many occasions.  For his service to Pinellas County’s Teen Court he was awarded Stetson’s William F. Blews Pro Bono Service Award when he obtained his Juris Doctor in December of 2006.

Being one of only a few students who took the bar exam before graduating from law school, Mr. Van Dyke was admitted to practice law in Texas in February of 2007 and began work for a Dallas-based factoring company (Langbert Financial, Inc.) serving as its general counsel until November of 2009.  At that time, he became general counsel for a Plano debt collection agency, Haller, Harlan & Taylor, where he remained until April of 2011.  Mr. Van Dyke began his own private practice in May iof 2011 focusing primarily on commercial litigation, credit repair, and criminal defense.  Unfortunately, Mr. Van Dyke was forced to close his practice in December of 2015 due to lack of operating capital (due in large part to clients who refused to pay their bills).

Mr. Van Dyke still serves as in-house counsel for White Jacob & Associates Inc. and Tucker Albin & Associates Inc., but only works part time.  He is currently seeking additional part time or full time employment.

Mr. Van Dyke is licensed to practice law in Texas, Colorado, Georgia, and the District of Columbia.
