Handling family law matters with superior strategy and knowledge of the law is my strong point. Rita Boyd handles cases in Rockwall Collin, Denton, and surrounding counties. Rita is a trained Mediator and has the facilities available at her office to conduct mediations.

Rita Boyd has volunteered at Mothers & Fathers for Equal Rights/Grandparents United, “FER”, since 1993, the longest time of any attorney on it’s network and has helped refer qualified attorneys to serve on the network.

Rita Boyd possesses a unique understanding of stepparent, Father and Husband issues. She enjoys working with grandparents as well. Rita does significant continuing legal education and regularly briefs the organization on the most recent changes in the law. She is a supplier of study materials, forms, books, case updates, and other information to Fathers for Equal Rights to help insure the members get the most accurate information available. Rita is available for a free consultation at Fathers for Equal Rights every Friday from 11:00-1:00 p.m., which is my pro bono volunteer every week. Ask your attorney how many hours per week they give for free!

Rita Boyd has taken the Guardianship Training Course and is trained in Collaborative Law.

Excellent

I hired Rita after my ex husband filed for divorce in 2017. She helped me throughout the whole divorce process and was able to correct errors in my decree with no hesitation. I feel like she lit some fire underneath them when they would try to delay with the changes or signing. I am thankful for her helping out a mother of 3.

Professional Excellence

In an urgent last minute situation Ms. Boyd offered to step in an help without hesitation. I had several tough deadlines ahead of me and was frantic to be honest. Her calm professional behavior prevailed and the "perfect storm" I was headed towards dissolved. I could not be happier! I originally thought I found her by accident however looking back ...it was meant to be! I am grateful and would recommend her to anyone. Great divorce attorney

I am going through a tough divorce situation and had not been able to sleep or relax until I hired Rita Boyd. (The first atty. I had did nothing for me). Creative Peace Maker

From the first time I walked into her office from the day we walked out of court, Rita has been an extreme comfort. Making the decision to get divorce is a tough one with a lot of questions. Rita answered all my questions and was always available. No matter what day or time, she was right there with me. She is extremely knowledgeable which allows her to use creative approaches to bring concensus to both parties. My divorce was not typically and I was in fear before I met her. Mother of two

I am a mother of two going through a long and lengthy divorce. Been separated since April 2013. Had a previous lawyer which did absolutely nothing for me so I contacted Rita Boyd. I told her my situation and she instantly said Yes she could help. She has proven to be very efficient. Everything she has said has been spot on. She is very strict and very up front which is what I like. I feel my lawyer should be open and honest with me which she is. There were a few obstacles she had to overcome then she advised to me a different scenario. I was hesitant at first but followed her advice. Well following her advice is one of the best things I have ever done. Rita Boyd is a top class lawyer. She will fight for you til the end. I highly recommend her.

Great experience

Rita has handled my custody, divorce and a financial issue for me. I am father and recieves sole custody of my children when this rarely happens for men. I also recieved a $160,000 bill for when my xe was in rehab and Rita was able to get this bill down to $6,500. When I chose to stop doing things my way and listened to Rita good things happened for me. I will always use her in the future.

Rude & Unprofessional

I called Rita Boyd after reading her wonderful reviews. While on the phone with her, she was astonishingly rude and unprofessional. She spoke to me as if I was a dimwit because I had some questions about family laws that I’m not familiar with. She spoke to me in a very condescending and disrespectful manner. When she no longer deemed I was worthy of the conversation, she abruptly said,, “I won’t take your case.” She then just hung up on me. I sat there in disbelief that an attorney with raving reviews treated me in such a way. It leaves me to wonder if people/clients are paid or in some way compensated in writing up good reviews? She could have been just a little bit more polite or even faked it at the very least.
