Amazing lawyer!!! Would reccommend him to anyone!!

I want to start off by saying if you are looking for a DUI lawyer Doug Wilder is definitely the way to go!! I was stopped in Dallas county on a Saturday night. It was my first and only DUI and had been coming home from a car club meeting when I made an illegal right turn and was stopped by the office...r. I had had a few to drink earlier that night and had admitted that to the cop. Because my son was with me and he stated that, "I appeared intoxicated" he arrested me and charged me with a felony DUI with a minor. The next Monday I had called Doug's office to schedule a consultation. The office staff was very helpful during this entire process and helped me get everything set up to begin the long process of court hearings. Doug was very honest from the beginning about what he wanted me to do to get this dropped to a misdemeanor and get sentenced to the least possible outcome we could get it down to. He did not spare any information and informed me that I would have to do things I might not want to do such as AA every night, Alcohol breathing device (Soberlink), MADD classes, Alcohol Evaluation and so forth. I pushed through and did everything that he wanted me to do before my first court date and I was so glad I did! The judge was impressed that everything he was going to sentence me to on probation was already done he ended up dropping my felony DUI case with a minor all the way down to a class B misdemeanor and only 18 months probation. Seeing as I had already done EVERYTHING he was going to sentence me to again, thanks to Doug, I no longer had to do anything else other then check in with my PO once a month. It was a way easier process thanks to Mr. Wilder. I fought him some days with having to do AA every night but I honestly believe without his representation and me completing everything he wanted me to I was able to walk out of that court jumping for joy with what I got sentenced. I recommend Mr. Wilder to anyone needing any type of representation for a DUI!! He was amazing and I could not be more happy with him!!

Experience counts!

I was devastated when I was arrested for a DWI and took the search for a defense attorney very seriously. I did hours of research on Dallas DWI attorneys before interviewing about a dozen in person. After narrowing to just four, one attorney asked who else was in the mix- when I mentioned Doug's name..., this attorney said "well I'll be honest, Doug wins cases that I never thought were possible and if I were in your boat I'd pick him". I am sure glad I did. As a very career focused and driven person, I was sure that this event would ruin my chances at getting a highly competitive job or getting into a top grad program. I explained to him my situation, and my concerns and how any conviction for a DWI was just not in the cards for me. He reviewed my case and gave it to me straight the whole time which I greatly appreciated. Given the particulars associated with my arrest, as well as other medical factors, we came up with a plan to try and fight the charge. He warned me that this could take months or years, but that he truly believed this would lead to the best outcome. Over the nearly 2.5 years it took, I rarely felt like I wasn't in good hands. High office turnover made me nervous, the volume of posts to the electronic case management system was at times overwhelming, but Judy (his longtime paralegal) and Doug never made me feel like a random name on a client list. In the end, Doug worked his skill and his magic, and I plead to obstruction of a roadway. I have never been so grateful to have put my future in the hands of someone who could get the job done. Thank you Doug.

Great team!

I first contacted Dougs' office after I found out I had a warrant for probation violation. I was in transition back to Dallas county from Denton when I called to see about what I needed to do to end probation. I had failed an interlock test one morning on the way to work and school. I had used my wif...e's mouthwash since I was out, it was the Walmart brand so I didn't think about the alcohol. It had failed me with a .12! I didn't know how bad I failed, but I knew it would take more time for it to clear than we had. So I went ahead and let my wife drive, causing me to be automatically guilty. I decided to research decent lawyers here on Avvo after having an absolutely terrible experience with the Stanley law firm during my initial DWI. When I first called, I talked to Rebecca. What nailed me was that she seemed genuinely concerned about what happened to me. My first of many lawyers with the same firm the last time around never really listened. So I went ahead and hired them that day. Doug was late the first appointment, but I had been notified already the night before by Rebecca. Had had two major cases that morning so it wasn't a big deal to me. He was very nice, a little on the goofy side, very straightforward, and honest. Never talked down to me or like I was ignorant, like I saw a lot of attorneys do their clients at the courthouse. He also didn't take any flack from the probation office either, even fed it right back. That worries me at first, but I learned that Doug just isn't an attorney to be messed with! He told me that he would more than likely be able to get everything dropped. He immediately had the warrant gone thanks to a personal recognizance bond. Which meant I didn't have to pay any money, but could get in serious trouble for not showing to court! You'd have to be insane not to show to court! I never had to wait long for Doug to show after that day, waiting for probation to do their job was another story though! I went and had my school counselor that I had signed up for classes with that morning, write me a signed statement about how I was not intoxicated. This just wasn't enough to sway the probation officer. So Rebecca initially recommended I take a repeat victim impact panel and sign up for intensive outpatient therapy with her friend Holly Hunter. I was stubborn and didn't don't immediately because I felt like I was admitting guilt. Doug firmly re-recommended Rebecca had prior. So I finally went to the panel, turned out to be a lot more informative than my first in Denton. I also signed up with Holly Hunter. I also learned a lot from that experience as well! She was a great and interesting person that definitely left a mark on me. She too, has quite the reputation in the North Texas legal system. Once I had completed everything, I brought all my paperwork in. Doug got me right in at 9 and three minutes later, everything was dropped!!!! There was always good lines of communication between Doug, Rebecca, and I. Rebecca was always very quick to answer any question I had through the team website and by text. Even after hours she would respond asap! She loaded all of my documents into the system for me so Doug would have them on court day. So very pleased that I found them when I did. They truly went above and beyond my expectations of an attorney's office. They helped me get this giant heap of stress off of my back! If you're looking for a great attorney and legal team, look no further!!!

Miracle Working Attorney

I rec'd my 2nd DWI with child 10 years after my first. For the type of work I do, I could NOT have a felony charge on my record. I met with Doug and was impressed. He was very honest and explained this would be difficult but not impossible. He immediately had me attend AA meetings, attend repeat offe...nder program, attend A Court Class, and get a sober link which I breathed in 4 times a day. My case took a while to finally see a court room which made me stress more but worked in my favor because it allowed me the time to do all the things he asked me to do. I made sure I did it all too!! I finally met with the DA and went before the judge. Doug was not only able to have my felony charges reduced to a misdemeanor but I did not have to do any jail time. Doug & his staff were very detailed oriented & kept me up to date through text, email, phone, & program that I had access to at any time. I highly recommend him to anyone who can benefit from his services. I would have my friends and family use his services, if, god forbid, they got a felony or misdemeanor charge brought upon them. Doug actually cared about me and my case and made sure I knew that.

Former Dallas Police Officer Currently Business Owner

In November 2013 I was falsely accused of an assault. The complainant stated that I had caused a small bruise to her left knee. The Police was called and a couple of days later I was arrested by Dallas Police Department which was the Department I was at the time working for. By that time I had alread...y hired an attorney who failed to be with me at the time of the interrogation regarding the false accusation. One week later I couldn't afford this one attorney so I ended up hiring another attorney who just kept on telling me to accept the plea that the court was offering me, but since I knew I committed no assault, why would I accept and plea bargain and have an assault charge in my record for the rest of my life? Lastly, I knew I had to get myself another attorney that will give me a fair result. Someone who I could trust, someone who was not just going to get my money and not work for it. I contacted another Dallas Police Officer who was also arrested and had hired Doug Wilder as his attorney. This one Officer gave me a great reference. I decided to call another Officer who also knows Doug Wilder and also talked really good about him and how successful his results are. I placed that call to Doug and within a couple of minutes of being on the phone with him I told him I wanted to hire him and to represent me regarding my case. By then I was already living in another city nowhere close to DFW, but the distance was never a problem. Doug worked hard, quick and efficient to help me solve my case. Within a couple of months Doug Wilder had worked with the DA's to look at the evidence and my case was dismissed. This was the best decision I could ever make. I had finally hired the right attorney. If I would've heard of Doug way before, he would've been the first to hire. If I wouldn't have hired Doug I could've faced some time in jail and a fine. Thank you Doug.
