This lawyer was disciplined by a state licensing authority.
Public reprimand means an attorney did something wrong but may still practice law. The State gives the lawyer a public reprimand in hopes that he or she will not repeat the behavior. Details of the infraction are made part of the public record.
Billy’s comment: “On January 26, 2007, I received a public reprimand. The District 6-A Grievance Committee found that the complainant in the grievance was a former employee of my firm. After the complainant left the firm, I used her notary public stamp. The District 6-A Grievance Committee found that I had violated Rule 8.04(a)(3). I was further ordered to pay $1,015.00 in attorney’s fees. Since being licensed in 1998, I have never had a grievance sustained against me by a client .”

Bill did the best possible job given the constraints surrounding my DWI case. He has a solid understanding of the complexity associated with DWI charges. He is (A) very effective at staying ahead of the all the various filing dates and other items that pop up during the unnecessarily lengthy legal process and (B) he will answer all your questions with a great deal of detail and is very transparent about his strategy for your case. This high level of service helped reduce the anxiety that I experienced during this entire debacle and generally made my life much easier considering the alternative. He truly goes the extra mile for his clients and I would 100% recommend him to anyone unlucky enough to be facing DWI charges in Texas, which is a state that is unreasonably putative when it comes to this crime and will treat you like a subhuman the entire time you are under its thumb.
Bill is truly an excellent lawyer. He helped me with my DWI case by getting me a favorable judgment. I will be forever grateful to him for his services. Bill is very well connected and respected among his peers. He will educate you on how the system works and as long as you listen to him it should all work out ok. He is also really good with responding to your calls and messages in a very timely manner. I truly recommend him to anyone who is in need of a lawyer. Thank you again Bill.
Bill Stovall is highly recommended as a criminal lawyer! Not only is he very knowledgable but was very polite throughout my entire case. I never felt like I was criminal. He treated me with the upmost respect. I was very pleased with the plea that I was given. Without him I wouldn't be where I am today! I appreciate all he's done and the time that he spent during my case. Thank you again!!
