Everything you want in a situation you don't want to be in

I live in Wisconsin and found myself needing to hire a lawyer on behalf of a close friend in Kentucky regarding an accusation made in Kansas. I found David highly rated on an online attorney directory, and he lived up to all of his excellent reviews. Being from out of state, I was completely unfam...iliar with this legal process. David took every opportunity to explain every step of the way, answering all of my questions and making me feel totally comfortable. He was very organized, respectful, personable, and communicative, everything you'd want from an attorney when you find yourself in a potentially compromising situation. He managed expectations properly as well, making sure we always understood what the next step was going to be and how long it was going to take. Ultimately, David got my friend's case dropped, something we are all eternally grateful for. We are all very thankful we chose to hire David and would absolutely seek him out if we ever find ourselves in need of a KC attorney again.

David Bell untangled a brutal and messy IRS Criminal Investigation for a young US immigrant, husband, and brand new father

It was two weeks before my firstborn child would be born, and I received a knock at my door from two IRS CID Agents who were concealing firearms and had the gold badges and the whole sha-bang. I am 26-years old, and a new immigrant to the US. During my time of a pending Green Card, I became successfu...l as an entrepreneur and was given incorrect tax advice by a nationally-known and reputable company which ultimately led to me not filing personal tax returns when I had an obligation to, as well as writing off things I never knew I wasn't meant to write off. It was really terrifying. Looking online, the odds of being charged and indicted while in this specific scenario are literally a coin toss at best, innocent or not, and then I can kiss goodbye to my 20s as a young husband and father. Once the IRS CID Agents recommend for prosecution, IRS fact sheets will tell you that it is a 90% chance that you are going to prison. I knew I was innocent, and David spent endless hours of his time listening to my defense. In this situation, I knew I NEEDED legal council, and David was the guy. A friend of a friend referred me to David, and within 20-minutes of the IRS CID Agents leaving my home, David Bell picked up the phone, told me to take a deep breath, and to take care of my heavily pregnant wife while he takes care of the IRS. Can you imagine the sigh of relief? From there, that was the last of my communication with them, and now it is completely reversed back to civil. Why? Was it an easy case? No. I unknowingly owed backtaxes that would amount to me being imprisoned for 8+ years according to the sentencing table. This was NOT a small matter. I have scores of employees and livelihoods on my shoulders to take care of, too, and David knew I had a business to run and a family to see to, and he literally made it go away. I can't put it any other way. Sounds simple? No, you see David was willing (and did) get on an airplane with another team member and plead to the IRS for my defense and cause to face-to-face. He said he could do this via phone or video, but willingly offered to travel for me, and that was the option I chose, and he did it in the dead of winter, knowing the risks of being stuck in the middle of a snowstorm week. He did get stuff. They were issuing subpoena after subpoena, and it was brutal. David didn't back down. David, on JANUARY 2nd, one day after his family New Year's celebrations, went on the offense and convinced the IRS Criminal Investigation Division of my innocence. They questioned, and tried to find holes in his genius defense, and off of the top of his head, even in a 2-day delayed snow storm which threw off his whole schedule, he had answers on the fly completely memorized and completely factual. He even rented a car and drove from St Paul to Kansas City because his flight was cancelled due to weather and he needed to get home to defend another client's case. He literally drove half way down the country for another client, and flew into a storm for me, figuratively and literally. If this doesn't speak volumes, I do not know what will. David is your man, no matter your situation, and the actions he took proved that. Most lawyers talk, but David works, and he works relentlessly. I am still blown away and I am still digesting the news. David, I owe you big time. You have given me my family, a future with my daughter, and hope to keep my business thriving after 5-years of building it with crooked tax advice. David's involvement with me didn't stop in the criminal side. All throughout the process, he connected me with civil-level geniuses who helped me get caught up on taxes, prove a good effort to the IRS, and act as my council to abate all of the unfair penalties and interests they put on my account. If CID knocks your door, and you know that you have not intentionally committed a crime, David is your man. Please do not hesitate to get in touch with him. David, you are family to us and we love you. Thank you.

Excellent Work & Experience

I can't speak enough to David's sensitivity in our initial consultation - as someone with their first engagement with court under a wrongful charge, I was incredibly nervous and unsure of what to expect out of this process. David was able to provide me full clarity of any potential route that might h...appen as a result of the how the case progressed with respect to the sensitivity of my experience. I felt completely supported by David throughout the process which was an invaluable feeling considering the circumstances.

We highly recommend David Bell

We hired David Bell to assist us when one of our contracted artists was wrongfully arrested for accidentally driving with his headlights off. The artist was ultimately handcuffed and arrested. He was given a DUI even though his blood alcohol was below the legal limit. It was a very traumatic event fo...r the artist who was arrested, as well as for the other artists he was with at the time (all of whom work for our company). The event was discriminatory and abusive on behalf of the KCPD (the artist is black and gay, and everyone who witnessed the event noted the unnecessary cruelty and abusiveness of the police officers). With David and Sheena's help, the case was dismissed and our artist's record has been cleared. I can't thank David and Sheena enough for their care and work on this case.
