Do you have children that you care for more than anything in this world? Do not expect those same feelings to be empathized with from someone who has no children. Stephen Bardol represented me in my child's paternity custody case th...at lasted for over one year with numerous settlement conferences that resulted in very minute increases in time if any at all. I am asking for 50/50 custody for a child under the age of two. I found myself complying to multiple requests and defending myself from strategic bogus complaints and accussations from the opposing party after every settlement conference. All of these attempts designed to interfere with gaining any increase in time and to financially drain resources to fight against the resistance. Mr. Bardol's approach throughout my case has been as soft as his handshake. Being a very blessed individual and having the love I have for my child there will be no obstruction allowed to interfere with obtaining 50/50 custody God willing. None of my intentions to gain the amount of custody I am asking for is motivated by money. I truly want to be equal parent to my child and share those responsibilities equally with my child's mother dispite our seperation so my child can have a healthy and balanced upbringing. Unfortunately, after all the unsuccessful attempts from the settlement conferences and an unsuccessful trial here I am writing this review. Over one year of failure to obtain equality in my precious child's life and nearly ten thousand dollars later I have been granted a mere one overnight through the week and every other weekend along with shared holidays. This is what is suggested by the county courts of Clayton Missouri to be in my child's best interest and reason being "due to the light of the child's young age." Rather than building a foundation early in my child's life as being an equal parent as were my intentions the courts feel that having the mother be granted sole legal custody at this time and allow the child to become "comfortable and familiar" with the other parent. The other parent meaning me his father. I must state that I have never been out of my child's life and was consistently seeing my child everyday when I was allowed and only when I was allowed to at his mothers residence. Frequent contact is in the child's best interest is what you will hear the most. Frequent contact seems to be frequently granted to the mother. I will never give up for you my son!
