Experience.I have more than 45 years legal and business experience, having served as partner in several law firms, as vice president of and legal counsel to the multi-billion dollar investment advisor of a group of publicly held mutual funds and as president and CEO of a mid size Chicago real estate brokerage, management and development company. A highly experienced real estate developer, I have developed shopping centers, office buildings, mixed use buildings and literally thousands of condominium units.

I served as president of a mid sized condominium association for more than ten years. Because of my varied experience, I bring a highly practical and pragmatic point of view to legal representation, having acted both as client and attorney in many complex business, condominium association and real estate transactions. I am highly sensitive to the issues and pressures being faced by and the practical concerns you are facing, while being highly proficient in handling the technicalities of legal transactions.

Education.I earned an undergraduate degree in accounting from Northwestern University Kellog School of Management. After qualifying as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), I attended the University of Chicago College of Law And Graduate School of Business where I received a Juris Doctor degree in Law and a Master of Business Administration, with a concentration in Investment Finance. I am licensed to practice in Illinois and have been admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, the United states Tax Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and before the Supreme Court of the United States.

My Practice. I practice in Chicago and maintain a convenient neighborhood office on the North Side of the City. I am a general business and real estate law practitioner, focused on business and real estate transactional matters as well as condominium law and estate planning and administration. I have represented condominium associations and advised clients as to condominium law since 1970.

I bring an educational background including the most highly respected rated law and business schools in the country to the informal environment of a small local firm. This gives my clients the benefit of direct access to sophisticated and highly experienced representation but without the overhead, much higher fees and bureaucracies of large and downtown law firms.

I take my own calls; so when you call, you will not be "filtered" through a receptionist, secretary or assistant. I make it a point of being absolutely responsive to my clients and of trying to return every call the same day, no matter how busy I may be at the time.

I am a member of the Chicago and Illinois State Bar Associations, the Association of Condominium, Townhouse and Homeowner's Associations as well as the Chicago Association and National Association of Realtors. I serve on the Real Estate Law Committee and The Condominium Law Subcommittee of the Chicago Bar Association.

Give me a Call. If my approach and background seem to suit your legal needs, give me a call (, ext 1) or e-mail me (). I'll be happy to set up a free, no obligation, telephone or office consultation. If I don't feel I have the experience to best represent you with your matter, I'll try to refer you to another attorney who does.

Honest & Straight forward
First time I have ever hired an attorney and felt it was money well spent. Patient enough to explain where my plans may not have been the best way to go and offered a much better alternative.

Barry is the best lawyer that I ever met in my 20 years of real estate business
I hired Mr. Kreisler to help me to purchase over million dollar commercial building in Chicago from Nov 2015 till end of Jan 2016. My deal have a lot of trouble caused by the seller, buy the tenant , buy the lender as well as other dramatic problems. Mr. Kreisler hand it very well. Very professional. Especially during the year end vocation period. Mr. Kreisler tried to help when he was overseas. He is very professional, responsible. My case have so many extra work. Mr Barry Kreisler did not request more fee for his time. Which he could. Because an abnormall case did cause his many extra hours spend. I have a good experience working with him. I will definite will hire him again in my next project and I will also highly recommend all friends to him. He did excellent job for me. Thank YOU Barry!!

Excellent Attorney
I bought into a 10 unit condo complex in 2008. Due to the crash of the market, only 3 of the units were sold with the developer owning the remaining 7. The developer refused to provide the records of the association so I had Barry step in. Barry successfully negotiated a turnover of the association to the unit owners. The association is now functioning properly. Barry is professional, ethical, responsive, knowledgable, and an all around great adviser. I would not think twice about taking any real estate related issue to him.

Barry Kreisler - no one makes lawyer jokes about this guys. A lawyer unlike any other.
I have been using Barry for several years and have had very good results. He is different from other lawyers. You immediately trust Barry and you know he is looking out for his client's best interest. The best recommendation I can give about Barrys service is the response I have gotten from the people sitting on the other side of the table from us. Most people are very surprised at the results Barry archives. Many people have complement to me on his work saying - "I've been doing this for 20 years and I've never gone up against a guy like this." What more do you need to hear. Try Barry, you won't be disappointed.

Fair attorney. Definitely recommended
I hired Mr. Kreisler after consulting with a few others. He is very knowledgable, fair with his use of billable time, and communicated well with me, despite being out of state and in a different time zone. He was great during a difficult time.
