Atty Gus Kostopoulos is untrustworthy. I believe he forgot the oath he took when defending clients according to the constitution and forgot to re-read the law library books. When retained, a lawyer and his firm have an obligation to provide adequate and the best service possible. I can only spea...k for my experience but minimal was performed at best which led to a disastrous outcome which could have turned out better, not exonerated but BETTER. I read a similar review where a client said they never got a receipt even when requested on several occasions. We experienced the same thing along with few returned calls or emails from this attorney and his law firm. Additionally, he was retained to defend his client. Instead Gus repeatedly expressed empathy for the opposition and not his client. He and his law firm were paid well in advance prior to the sentencing. He was entrusted to present to the judge on the case, pertinent paperwork that would have helped his client. He only submitted some of the paperwork and claimed to the client and his parents after the fact, that he could not find the remaining paperwork that was given to him from the incarcerated. The incarcerated client never received the remainder of the paperwork from the attorney or the law firm. Oh and speaking of a "deal" that was verbally told by Gus and associates, he rushed in at the very tail end at the sentencing and told the client to "sign it because that is the best you can get." Gus never gave his client a chance to review the paperwork well in advance to make an informed decision. The client was informed AFTER the deal of the full details once he arrived at the prison by his caseworker . What a miasma of suspicion and ineptitude surrounding this case. What a shock at the outcome. The moral of the story: always ask for a copy PRIOR to signing especially when a slippery move was forced on an individual. I can only say be very careful here.
