I set up a consultation for filing chapter 13. I was 10 minutes away from the office in Indianapolis, Indiana. A lady from Chicago office called and stated they were canceling my appointment, when asked my she said the office manager reviewed my case and decided not to take it. When I asked the reaso...ns they were... 1. My case was too much work load, and they didnt have the ability to take on my case 2. I had filed many years prior(at least 5) and decided not to follow through 3. I have a felony, which does not even come close to having anything to do with my bankruptcy. This is the WORST , experience with a "law office" I've ever had. I have never had any attorney/manager tell me these reasons. Let alone call me 10 minutes away from the appointment. I would NOT recommend this company to anyone.

Filing bankruptcy never even entered our mind when we started realizing that we could no longer keep up on our bills. It was a decision we were not proud of, but ran out of any other option. We narrowed the list of law firms down to a handful, then based our pick on all of the reviews we found. Gerac...i law firm was the only one who had such a high rating with the BBB, and almost nothing but great reviews from people like me. Now we know why. When we walked in for our free one hour consultation, we were embarrassed to say the least. This kind of thing only happens to other people, not us. Immediately they made us feel very comfortable, and the feeling of being ashamed went away. They fully went over all of our options, and explained that chapter 7 was our only way to go, considering our current circumstances. They set up an affordable payment plan for us, as we were unable to pay the amount for theirs services in full at this time. We had a second appointment a few days later with a different attorney to finalize our paperwork. They made us feel very at ease, and a lot more comfortable with our decision. Never once did they make us feel like this was a shameful and degrading situation. Our paperwork should be filed with the courts very soon, then we just have to wait and see. We are hoping the outcome will be favorable to us, and lift this black cloud over our head. We want to give a special thank you to Brent Berning & Alex George from the Wauwatosa office. I went to see Geraci Law attorney Frank Hernandez for a free consultation. I didn't end up actually filing a bankrucpty but I would recommend anyone with financial troubles to contact this law firm.
