When I needed some advice for our situation I didn't know who to call. Anyone going through a financial crisis wants to find someone trustworthy, knowledgeable and wants to be treated with respect. So after reading a few reviews online for Mr. Handelman I took a deep breath and picked up the phone ...and made the call to his office. My call was routed to Jean and after giving her a few facts she made an appointment for us to meet with Stuart. Jean was the kindess person and assured me that we would be ok and we were NOT alone! We met with Mr. Handelman close to our home a few days later and it was like talking to a long time friend. He understood our situation and told us not to worry that everything would be fine and that we were in good hands. He is extremely knowledgeable and there was no question he couldn't answer. He filed our Chapter 7 case a few weeks later and we just received our dismissal in time for the new year. There were a few questions I had along the way and he responds sometimes within minutes and always the same day! We were always kept informed and the process was not as bad as I had thought. Now I wished I had made the call months earlier but I am so glad I made the call! Everyone at his office is very kind and a pleasure to deal with. If you are facing a tough time financially call their office. You will not be sorry!

Once I made the decision to file for bankruptcy protection, I did a lot of research to decide which firm to use and the Law Offices of Stuart Handelman repeatedly showed up as one of the best in Chicago. After my first meeting with Kelly Smith, I knew I had made the right decision. She took me thr...ough the different types of bankruptcy filings, performed my means test (I was only eligible for Chapter 13) and walked me through the filing process. After filing, the rest of my case from the meeting with the Trustee until my case was discharged was handled by Jean Huang. I also interacted with their Legal Assistant, Desiree Glapion on several occasions. These ladies are fantastic! Making a decision to file bankruptcy was not a decision I took lightly, but ended up being necessary for my situation. I'm so glad I ended up selecting this firm - Kelly, Jean and Desiree always made me feel very comfortable, and I never felt as though I was being judged. My e-mails and phone calls were always answered within 24 hours and Jean was always prompt in notifying me of any changes or updates with my filing. She was also incredibly patient with all of my questions (there were a lot!) and very thorough in her responses. I really cannot recommend this firm enough - they truly made one of the toughest times in my life much less stressful.

Mr. Handelman was very knowledgeable and very helpful. He always made my husband and I feel at ease with the bankruptcy. He made us know that we were not the only ones in this horrible situation. Mr. Handelman was always assessable and answered all questions the same day asked. Ours was not an easy ...case and he worked diligently to make our bankruptcy work out to our advantage.
