Run Away Terrible Attorney

Russel is like a used car salesman. He was responsive to my calls & email until I made a financial commitment. Once I made a financial commitment to his services, it's like pulling teeth for him or his team to answer calls or emails. I sent a notified letter to both offices in Florida and Chicago t...o find out if he was still in business. That is the level of incompetence he and his staff (Dustin Sedor, Izzy Salgado) have. I have a simple divorce no children. We are fighting over one house. My husband is physically abusive. Russel filed for maintenance while going through this divorce. Then never attended court. He then filed a second time months later after I called him several times. He then filed incorrectly. It was almost as though he didn't understand how to file documents in Florida court. I am a Chicago native and moved to Florida 10 years ago. I hired Russel as he represented himself as an attorney from both states. Russel is immoral, irresponsible, he is a downright crook. DO NOT HIRE RUSSEL KNIGHT OR DUSTIN SEDOR. Russel will tell you what you want to hear in inception. How he will fight for what you want. Yet once in court I almost felt like he was representing my ex. Russel claimed he would fight for my house then later would consistently talk to me about selling my house. He even asked me to put my home in his name. I never received maintenance from my husband, due to Russel's poor filing and not appearing in court. Since the divorce began to become a financial strain Russel would continue to ask me to put my home in his name. My divorce began in May of 2021, yet I am still not divorced. Rusell & his team have made me lose time and money. He should not be in business. I shared with Russel I had lost employment exactly 7 days later and he dropped me as a client. However, he did not let me know. Since Russel or his team were not responsive to my calls or emails. I called the court myself to follow up on the court date and discovered Russel had removed himself as my attorney. Claiming he had a family emergency and could not continue with my case. Please note he has another attorney on his team Dusin Sedor. I later saw him on a zoom call representing another client weeks later.

Everything that glitters isn’t gold!

I had high expectations for Russell. In the beginning he seemed very competent , caring and willing to go the extra mile for his clients. As time progressed it became clear that Russell and his team for the most part lack communication, attention to detail and customer service skills. Most times I ha...ve not been able to get feedback in the turn around time stated by his law offices of 24-72 hours, I’ve gone weeks without a return email or call, I’ve had to ask for court documents that were supposed to have been sent to me and I’ve been given misinformation by his team which caused issues in court. My case, issues and what was promised, was lost somewhere in a sea of other cases Russell had. When the paralegal working on in your case response to everything is “we have other cases, we are preparing for trials with other cases, etc” as a means for lack of communication with you in the 72 hour turn around time, that’s highly unprofessional and frustrating. It’s a given the firm has other cases but if you have so many other cases that you can’t hold up to your end of the bargain contractually, then remove yourself from the case then and there or stop taking new cases until you are caught up on the cases already under your scope. Nothing was really done to bring my case to a resolution because I could barely get proper communication with this law office. What really bothered me is, one would think your attorney had all of your current and correct contact information. There were several incidents where Russell gave out incorrect information for me to be contacted by court officials, he himself has contacted me at an old phone number form the beginning of the case. they have even sent our corresponding to the respondent at the wrong address. It’s hard to make progress in a case when what you are asking for is not attended to and when communication is basically nonexistent until the law offices decide to make contact. The last straw was the paralegal yelling and trying to talk over me and I had to nip it in the bud. I mandated a face to face meeting with Russell to end our business relationship as I was not being provided clarity, communication on my case, or the proper dedication to resolve my case. Russell sits down before I could get a word in and states that “ I know there have been some communication issues, which is why I think we should no longer work together.” I responded my glad you feel that way because I no longer want your representation because for a 10 month case 6,000 there is nothing to show for it. Communication is key and they possess none of it. Save your money and hire a lawyer that will fight tooth and nail for you. The only bright light was Attorney Iyer. He was dedicated, great with communication and in court he really knew his craft and got things done. Unfortunately he was only the cofounder so I was only paired with him less than 10 percent of the time.

The Best of the Best!

Russell knight has to be the most professional, caring and trustworthy attorney in Chicago. Since day one he has had nothing but my best interest front and center. He has helped me battle not one but, two ex wives. Taking on my tedious case and helping me fight for my kids. Informing me upfront of ...his tight knit plan, which not once led me down a disappointing path. Over that time, Russell never sat back. Always keeping me informed, fighting for me and my children every court appearance. His extreme knowledge of the whole Cook County court system played well in our favor too. To date, we are just about finished with our court matters. However, I am sure I have made a great friend along what's been a tough, hard worked, divorce. Russell will not let you down. He has an awesome disposition and is well respected in the courtroom.

Calm amidst the storm

Russell represented me in court for about a year straight on matters concerning child support, custody and visitation. His professional advice and calm counsel was exactly what my family needed. Not only was he informed and prepared, but he was also compassionate and empathetic. I highly recommend h...im if you are in need of a family law professional.

Truly The Best

After firing 2 lawyers we have found Russell through the internet. He is truly the best! He helped my husband and I win what seemed to be a very long custody battle of my StepSon. We have used Russell's services since 2008. He helped us establish visitation, motioned for vacation and holidays and fin...ally when we were ready he reviewed full custody with us and explained everything. He was very homest and we trusted him 1000% with everything. If he would of through that we did not have a chance he would of told us right away. With his help and knowledge we were paired with the right Child Representative we fought hard along side with Russell to do what was best for my Step Son. Thank you Russell for everything you have helped us with and for always being so understanding and supportive. I highly recommend Russell for any case as he is very professional, known throughout the court personel, and the most important VERY REAL!
