The firm merged in 2020 with The Law Offices of Nancy Stingle Perkoski to form Stern Perkoski Mendez—allowing for expanded divorce and family law services that serve clients across Cook County and the North Shore, as well as Lake and Will Counties.

Compassionate advocate
Josh was very accessible and supportive during one of the scariest times of my life. He communicated clearly about what I should expect at each stage, and always encouraged me to go with the option I felt most comfortable with. He and his team were also quick to answer any questions I had at the time. My divorce was finalized very quickly thanks to his efforts!

Personable, Talented, Responsive
I've used Josh (and his team) several times now. He is extremely responsive and accommodating, and he thoughtfully parses legal issues into plain language and candid recommendations. Multi state divorce case
Josh handled my very difficult case that my ex-wife tried to have transferred to Illinois from Michigan. Josh was able to create a solid case indicating how my ex was not being truthful, to the point that my ex and her attorney withdrew their case. I would highly recommend Josh Stern for any kind of divorce case, messy or otherwise, especially if children are involved [which was the case in my situation]. He was always readily available to talk on the phone and quickly got back via emails.

A Lifesaver
I felt myself drowning in dark, icy waters with a wave of panic washing over me. This was my experience after two years of stalled mediation and failed negotiations. Thank the Lord for Joshua
Joshua was/is the second lawyer to address my contentious divorce. The first one was twice as expensive and just didn't seem to have my back. Joshua is young, hard working, intelligent and willing to fight for me when I needed it. I chose Joshua after interviewing 5 other highly recommended more seasoned lawyers, but they all seemed to have way too many clients to really want to win the case for me. Joshua is amazing in every way. I was a little concerned that he was young, but this became more of an asset as the case progressed - he empathized with my situation and was hungry to win. I didn't have to extract legal information from him like other lawyers. All conversations were quick, to the point and filled with legal information. Another big plus, was that he always made time for me and always called back the same day. I seriously couldn't be happier with my choice. Nobody wins in a divorce, but I'm just glad I didn't get screwed over by a pretentious lawyer. Thank you Josh!
