Nelson S. Anthony

I have been practicing law since 1959, and am currently actively practicing law in Illinois & Nevada. After graduating from law school I served in the intelligence services of the U.S. Army.

               Corporate Practice. 1965 to 1990. In 1965 I went  to work for Mobil Oil Corporation in New York City. I progressed through a series of promotions from Staff attorney, to Assistant  Division Attorney, Senior Marketing Planning Analyst, Senior Headquarters Marketing Attorney, Regional Attorney (Central Region) and Lititgation & Claims Atttorney. As a Corporate Headquarters Attorney, I counselled  Managers responsible for  U.S. Marketing and Refining Operations, Wholesale and Retail Credit, Advertising, Major Facilities Consrtruction, Litigation, Employee Relations, EEOC, ADA, Civil Rights Act, Labor Relations, Arbitrations, State Government Relations, and  Legislation.  As a Managing Attorney, I administered budgets and  supervised in-house and outside  lawyers, managers, claims adjusters, paralegals and secretaries. During my career with Mobil Oil, I have practiced law as a member of the Bars of the States of New york, California, Illinois, Virginia and Nevada.

        Private Practice 1990 to 2007.  I retired from Mobil in 1990 and moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where I established a private practice in Las Vegas. While there, I represented Mobil Oil in a major envoronmental case involving the permitting & construction of a 100 mile, heated, heavy crude oil pipe line in California (the Mobil M70 line) and some ERISA and other  litigation in Nevada . I also represented several small coporations as their general counsel and had a busy practice in Litigation,  Wills, Trusts, Estate Planning and Probate matters in Nevada and California.

        Private Practice 2007 to date .  In 2007, I relocated to Illinois to be closer to our children,  and grandchildren. Since moving back to Illinois, I have continued with my general practice, representing individuals as well as corporations.
