Waste of time and money

Laura initially came off as a very confident lawyer and reassured me that the issues I was having regarding my ex would be taken care of without any trouble. She acted excited and ready to go. As soon as my ex retained a lawyer, she seemed very intimidated by their high profile. After 1 year, nothin...g happened with my case except for motions being filed which went no further then just the filings. I would reach out to Laura multiple times about really important issues and most of the responses took weeks, if any response at all. She always made suggestions based off of what she thought the judge would think or how she would look whether it was helping my situation or hindering it. At one point, I started feeling like she was putting me in a worse position then before hiring her. Finally I decided to seek new counsel after going a solid year without any change in my case. After getting a new lawyer, I realized just how unorganized she was, even in her office. Her Secretary was nice but seemed to not know what she was doing. I'm not one to go out of my way to write reviews, but with the amount of money I wasted, I am hoping to save someone else a potential let down financially and mentally.

Poor communication skills

She was the first attorney I had ever dealt with in my life and had the worst of experience. I had her as my attorney for about 7 months and would have sent her more than 100 emails most of them asking her over and over again about same questions for which I got no answers from her. I may be dumb, ...idiotic with my questions, but I asked her because I did not know. I did not know law and so I hired her. She would not answer them even if I asked the question for a month every day. Getting her on a call is even more difficult. She only gave me her office number where I can reach her. There was a time I had to call with a different name to get through to her. It was so worst at the end, she did not even answer my questions on billing and kept sending me notices. It was a nightmare hiring her, worse than the divorce itself. She did not do anything on the case and the case almost came to the trial. My next attorney had to work from scratch. It is not just the questions that she did not answer, even communications from the opposing counsel have been sent to me more than a week later. She would not even keep me posted on what she was communicating with the other attorney. Any documents that need my signature, she will say mail it to me. Scanned copy is not something she would encourage. Whether it was she sending me court documents or I sending her signed documents, it was all in mail. I thought that was the all attorneys worked until I worked with an efficient attorney. I was so clueless about my case and more so hopeless. She accidentally sent me an emaiI where she put me down saying things on email to the other attorney. If I was the only one treated so badly, I would like to ask her why? If you need a considerate, efficient and responsive attorney, keep looking.
