Meet my buddy Stavri Vako.
He helped me out in Kane County with a traffic ticket.
If it's your first time fighting a ticket consider getting a lawyer! Going in alone made me feel defenseless, since the cop, prosecutor and judge all know more than me.
Police have much more training and exper...ience collecting evidence and familiarity with court.
Prosecutors are there to try the case. If you go in by yourself, you are up against a lawyer who is there to convince the judge your guilty. It's not a negotiation!
The process is very formal but not knowing the law, I need someone who knows what's going on. Even if it's for my education.
My case was a minor traffic violation. My outcome was going on supervision.
In my situation, for the kind of ticket I had, I may have been better off taking a class. That said, having a lawyer is the only way to keep things fair.
What would I like to see? Teach a man to fish, I'd like to see some of the workings of the system so I can iron out minor traffic tickets myself.
For bigger things and more complicated situations, you'll always need representation. Even lawyers hire lawyers.
Check out Stavri and give him in a call.
