With my nursing license on the line due to some un-work-related criminal history, the board was going to deny my nurse licensure. So in a soul-crushing panic with the denial letter stating I had 30 days to respond, I spent hours (yes HOURS) researching these hearings, trying to find similar cases, lo...oking at possible outcomes, and looking into legal counsel. Well if there's one thing that I learned from this, its that if you don't have a lawyer in front of IDFPR your license is most likely toast or you will jump through their impossible hoops for YEARS. Fred was down to earth and understanding that a 3 year probation with a ton of conditions was not going to fly with me - esp. being a new grad RN (its already hard!). He put together a bunch of things to prove to IDFPR that my momentary lapse in judgement has no effect on my ability to perform as a nurse. Side note: as a nurse I truly appreciated how he sat me down and actually personally asked me if there was an underlying issue... I respect him for not defending clients that he is not confident in. Most lawyers just go go go go to win the best outcome and not necessarily the most beneficial thing for the person in question. He was helpful in prepping me for responding to their questions. I had a very favorable outcome- the price point reflects that but in the long run this license really is my means of living. On that note- He is one of like 4 firms in IL that does these cases exclusively and is also the best one, so it is an easy decision to make whilst navigating the exceptionally horrific regulatory bodies in IL. 10/10 would recommend. Reminder, don't face idfpr alone- remember it is their job to protect the public not you!!! 10/10 would recommend to any healthcare professional that I know

I am writing this review because my experience with Fred Nickl has been wonderful!! I will never forget him for all that he did for me. As a nurse, he helped me through one of the most difficult times in my life....my RN license on the line following a car accident one back in Aug, 2017. I never rese...arched anything about him. I simply chose him out of the phone book. When I called the office for information about my case, Fred actually answered the phone. He was so kind and caring. He listened to me without rushing me off the phone like other attorneys. He provided me with the necessary information and let me know the cost without having to meet him first. During this time in my life, I felt shame and guilt for what was happening to me. He was so courteous with such a caring nature . He made me feel so much better when I was so depressed and worried. Fred was always so easy to reach either by telephone or e-mail. He always responded back to me in a short period of time. I met his senior partner Ed briefly. He, too, was very pleasant and informative. Fred was very knowledgeable with the laws of IDFPR and coached me throughout the hearing process with the board. I can never than Fred in words for saving my RN license. I will always keep him very close in my heart. He was a wonderful person and excellent attorney. There are no words to thank him enough and express my appreciation and gratitude to him.....he will always be one of my guardian angels. Thank you!!!!!!!

I was compelled to write this review since my experiences with Fred and Ed have been nothing but positive. As a veterinarian, they helped me through one of the most difficult challenges in my life.  I chose them due to their decades of experience and knowledge in many fields, including veterinar...y medicine. It is not an easy task finding experienced attorneys with so much insight regarding not only the IDFPR, but also criminal laws and federal/state policies. Fred always knew exactly where to direct me and even referred me to some wonderful individuals at other legal practices when issues arose outside of his realm.  Both Fred and Ed were always readily available via e-mail or telephone. Fred consistently responded to my questions, concerns, and any other issues regarding my case, typically within minutes. I will be forever grateful for their loyalty, honesty, and dedication, but most of all, for saving my career and allowing me to continue doing what I love every day.
