About me

I focused on Public Interest Law in Law School.  I was very happy working at the Indian Child Welfare Law Center as my first job after law school, but I could not pay the bills on a Public Interest Salary once my wife and I started a Family.  I fell into debt collection for a few years.  While the debt collection practice was never a good fit for me, it did provide me with a unique perspective and insight into the problems of people dealing with debt and debt collectors.  I started my own firm helping people with debt on April 15, 2009.  I am much happier on this side because I can help people.  I can help people file bankrupcy for a reasonable fee.  If bankruptcy is not the right option, I can defend debt collector lawsuits, and negotiate with creditors.  If debt collectors violate the FDCPA, I will sue them.

  • Jonathan L. R. Drewes

Paul deeply understands how debt collectors go about their work and uses that knowledge to help consumers effectively convey reasonable settlement offers, if they can avoid bankruptcy. When there is no alternative, Paul can wipe out most debts through bankruptcy. Where the rubber meets the road on issues of garnishment and debt collection, I'd trust no one more than Paul Weig to help my client out of a jam.
