Schoenbohm Law was established in 1982 to help consumers and small businesses in financial trouble. I have been an Appleton resident for over 50 years and have devoted 30 of those years to assisting people with financial problems.
I want you to know up front that I care deeply for my community, and if you’re in financial distress in Northeastern Wisconsin, we will do everything in our power to effectively protect your legal rights in Bankruptcy Court. Our firm is dedicated exclusively to bankruptcy law, focusing on individual and small business bankruptcies under Chapter 7, 11, and 13 of the Bankruptcy Code.
My name is Michael P. Schoenbohm, and I’m the president of Schoenbohm Law, S.C. I received my law degree from Valparaiso University School of Law in Indiana. I’m a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin, Outagamie County Bar Association, and the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys. I am proud to be admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the State of Wisconsin and United States District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin. I’m here to serve you.
I’m a family man with a wife and three grown children, and you and your family are important to me.

If you owe more money than you can afford to repay over time, you may benefit from a Chapter 7 bankruptcy attorney's services. In a Chapter 7 bankruptcy, the person that owes the money is usually relieved of financial obligations and given a fresh financial start. Because new bankruptcy laws are constantly written and existing laws modified, Chapter 7 attorneys can help debtors and creditors cope

If you owe a lot of unsecured debt, you may need the services of a debt settlement lawyer. Unsecured debts include medical bills, credit cards, store and gas cards, collection accounts, and bounced checks. Creditors will usually accept less than the full amount if it's clear you don't have the money to pay them. Your attorney can negotiate lower balances with your creditors, who often would rather settle with you than take a chance on getting nothing if you file bankruptcy.

If you own a business that owes money but needs time to repay it, you may require the services of a Chapter 11 bankruptcy attorney. When a company attempts to stay in business and files Chapter 11, the bankruptcy court supervises the company's reorganization of debts and contracts for repayment. This means the company can negotiate for later due dates, or pay the debts for less, with the creditors' and court's agreement.
