Chris Doerfler, Founder of The Doerfler Law Firm & BadgerLawyer

Chris Doerfler came up from the workingman’s world. He was on his own when he was 18 and put himself through college working in ditches. Building cabinets. Running a Bobcat. Tamping – if you’ve ever tamped, you know what we mean. That’s work. Chris met a lot of people working those 14 hour days in the hot sun, and there’s two things he learned. One, working men and women are some of the hardest working, most decent folks you’ll ever meet. And two, it’s a heckuva privilege to get to be a lawyer. Chris still works 14 hours most days, but he never forgets that he gets to be warm on cold days and cool on hot ones. And he never forgets the people who worked alongside him on his journey and the people who helped him get where he is. He knows the economy is always tight for regular folks, and he knows regular folks need lawyers too. So along with providing super good legal services, the Badger gives you a super good price.

Our Client Service Philosophy: Listen, Evaluate, and Explain

Chris believes that success in the legal arena is not as much about getting a certain verdict, but about getting the results his clients want. Choices in the legal system are never easy. A complex array of factors goes into every decision. What are my chances? What happens down the road if I do this or don’t do that? How much will it cost me? Can I go through a trial without having a nervous breakdown? How will this affect the kids?

People faced with legal troubles have to find their own balance, that comfortable spot where all the competing concerns come together to form a goal that best works for them. Sometimes that’s all out warfare – trial without any chance of compromise. Most often, clients are looking for something a lot gentler than that.

What’s important is that the first thing Chris will do for you is listen. Not just hear the words coming out of your mouth, but genuinely listen. Hear you and learn what you are thinking, needing, suffering.

After that, Chris will evaluate your legal situation. This means he takes the facts of your case and projects the most likely results for all the strategies available.

Then, he will explain to you what the possible outcomes are, which are realistic, and which aren’t. He’ll give you the news honestly.

Then, once your questions are answered, you and Chris will decide ongoals. How do you want your case to come out?  Do you want your day in court, or is settlement in the cards? Are you innocent of some charges but willing to deal on others? Are you flexible on support but firm on visitation? Can you handle the stress of trial? Are the facts with you or against? You and Chris will work together to decide what path to take.

Once goals are established, Chris will set about accomplishing them. You will remain an integral part of this process. Unlike some other lawyers, Chris believes you should stay closely connected to your case and your litigation team. That means call any time with questions, and we’ll be glad to let you know how things are going. Remember that short phone calls are always free. Together, you and Chris will find the best possible way to accomplish the best outcome possible for you.

First attorney EVER to put my concern above MONEY
Contacted Mr. Doerfler to simply ask a question. He is the first of several attorneys I have contacted in the past to EVER return contact without the promise of the almighty dollar. Researched my question, promptly returned contact with sound advice.

Excellent!
I started out with several false allegations including two felonies and several other misdemeanors. I had a very kind lawyer starting but soon realized that being kind was not going to cut it. Not only that but I could never reach her and felt as though my case was being left on the desk. Chris was recommended to me by the WI State Bar. I first contacted him when seeking representation for a civil suit resulting from false allegations that I was currently fighting. I soon learned that Chris was not just another "money hungry" big city lawyer..I began hours of research before calling him and soon decided to give him a call. He sat down with me at no cost and was straight forward with the seriousness of the alleged charges. What started out to be just a consultation about a possible civil suit turned into a substitute of counsel of Chris for my previous lawyer in my criminal case as well. I am a VERY demanding client, especially in the situation I was in and Chris kept me 100% informed and took every last one of my concerns into careful consideration. I went from having a lawyer whom I could not contact for the life of me, to having a wonderful lawyer who would respond to my e-mails within minutes every-time! I myself had lost hope of my dream to become a lawyer due to my false allegations and Chris turned that around for me. Not only did he use his aggressive and highly intellectual style to get my false allegations dismissed, but also has taught me a lot about my future career path. I feel as though I not only have began to get my life back but have also made a friend and mentor as well. We have a long path ahead with my civil suit an, but I have deep faith in Chris helping me to achieve the best possible result for my future. Before you lose hope....call Chris!

An Attorney you can count on for professionalism plus caring and concern.
We met Chris and had the opportunity to benefit from from his services several years ago, and he has remained both a friend and our attorney ever since. Chris is a caring person and took control of our case with not only excellent knowledge and professionalism, but with honest care and concern for us personally as well as our situation. When we first met Chris, my husband had a serious problem that could have had a horrible outcome. Chris kept my husband's spirits up and kept me, the wife, totally informed of every step of the way. No matter how serious the situation seemed, Chris met each challenge with confidence and the knowledge to bring our case to a perfect outcome. We highly recommend Chris. We don't know how to sing his praises high enough! We hope that we never have to go through the situation we did, but should something similar ever arise again, or we need an attorney for any reason again, Chris will be the first person we call on. Sometimes trying to find an attorney can be difficult as they all say the same things on initial meetings because they want your business. When you meet Chris for the first time, you will immediately see the difference between Chris and all of the others and you will know you don't need to look any further, Chris is the attorney you need to get the job done.

Saved the Day for Us
Chris came into a messy, hopeless looking situation in a long drawn out lawsuit and turned it around for us. He stopped us from getting run over in court and stood up for us in a way no previous lawyer had done. My past experience with lawyers had not been the most positive, with most of them just wanting to make a deal at my expense. Chris wasn't afraid togo to court and fight for us. We now are getting to open our business back up and that is thanks to him. He always returned our calls and e-mails and kept us informed all a long the way. I have been told to never trust a lawyer, but I trust this one. I would send anyone his way that needed a top notch lawyer on their side.
