About me

Attorney Ivan Hannibal is the founder of the Consumer Rights Law Office, a Madison, Wisconsin area law firm dedicated to helping those victimized by unethical and unscrupulous businesses. Ivan has spent most of his career representing consumers against a broad array of predatory businesses and individuals, including:

  • debt collectors;

  • repossession companies;

  • timeshare companies;

  • banks, credit unions, and junk-debt buyers;

  • auto dealerships, auto manufacturers, and auto repair shops;

  • warranty companies;

  • telecommunication companies

  • mortgage bankers and brokers;

  • landlords; and

  • big box retail stores.

Ivan has litigated cases at all levels of state court, including the Wisconsin Supreme Court, and federal district courts.  He has presented at many legal seminars and has been interviewed by numerous media outlets on consumer law-related topics.

Before entering private practice, Ivan interned with Justice Jon P. Wilcox of the Wisconsin Supreme Court, and clerked for Judge Paul Lundsten of the Wisconsin Court of Appeals.

Prior to becoming a lawyer, Ivan served in the U.S. Army, where he was a member of the 75th Ranger Regiment.  He participated in Operation Just Cause (Panama) in 1989.
