  • Hit by Valet driver! What recourse do I have?

I was hit by a valet driver on parking lot premises at CLE Int. airport. He came around a sharp turn too fast and hit me head on. His first response was "I'm sorry"; but later he claims I was too far over in the lane. I was not. Police were called...

  • Is there anyway I can go about it differently to atleast get what I paid or what better.?

My car was involved in a car accident last week and I have full coverage my car was considered a total loss and my insurance is only trying to pay 1500 I'm not being greedy & the damages were over 5000 I payed 2000 for my car and hadn't had it a m...

    David’s Answer

Remember, if your car is total led, your insurance company only owes you the fair market value of the car on the date of the crash, not what it will cost to replace it. That said, if your only had the car 1 month I woudl argue that the purchase price reflects the fair market value.

Try showing them the bill of sale and the receipts for the work you have done to it. Have you tried the other driver's insurance company yet? Assuming the crash was not your fault, see if they will offer you the $2K.

    Good luck.

  • What can I do to pay for the medical expenses and replacement of my vehicle?

I was T-Boned by a woman who's insurance policy didn't get paid and was cancelled 2 weeks before. I am 18 years old and have only been able to afford liability, I own my car but I believe her's was leased.

    David’s Answer

If you do not have insurance to cover these damages, then your only option would be to sue her in small claims court. Without any available insurance it may be hard to find an attorney because the at fault driver may never pay-off any judgment taken against her.

    Good luck.

  • Would it be best to go through insurance now since it has been a month after the accident and no estimate for his repairs

I was in a small parking lot accident on March 30,2016. Both he and I took photos of the damage. I was backing up & hit his driver door. The damages to my car were minor costing me $320 to fix my bumper so I did not file a claim with insurance. I ...

    David’s Answer

Always check your policy to see how long you have to report a crash. If you are close to the reporting deadline and have not heard anything then I woudl report it. If you are not approaching the reporting deadline than I would just give it a little more time.

Luckily you took pictures so that you are protected should the other driver now make claims for additional damage.

    Good luck.

    David’s Answer

Call your insurance company ASAP and report the crash and let them deal with the other driver. Only talk with your insurance company, not the other driver's insurance company.

    Good luck.

Why not submit it to your auto insurance company? Believe me, if the at fault driver has insurance your insurance company will find out. Let your insurance company do the work, that's why you pay your premiums!
