Watching Margaret Hickey in action is worth the fees I paid for that time. However, a lot of (what I consider to be excessive) charges add up simply from attorneys providing each other with documents or with information (which I could have done) without really reading or examining it. I know they a...re busy, but I expected more attention to detail and more prospective analysis/action/negotiation. The hourly rates are very high and careful attention should be better regulated. My divorce should never have cost me close to $15,000.00 in legal fees – we didn’t have that much to negotiate about and did not even go to trial (then had to pay for the mediator too).
