Ann S. Jacobs is the founder of Jacobs Injury Law. Her practice specializes in personal injury cases, including automobile accidents, nursing home abuse/neglect, financial abuse/fraud, and medical malpractice. Ann began her legal career as a public defender. She honed her trial skills during that period, championing everything from juvenile cases to homicides. Ann left the public defenders office to become a trial attorney in private practice, advocating for the rights of the injured. Since then she has represented hundreds of clients and is consistently honored as a top lawyer in Wisconsin.
A former president of the Wisconsin Association for Justice, Ann also served as program committee co-chair and remains a current board member. She is a founding member of the organization’s Women’s Caucus. From 2012-2015, Ann served on the Milwaukee Bar Association Board of Directors. Additionally, she has served as chair of the Milwaukee Bar’s Lawyer Referral Information Service (LRIS) Committee since 2006. In recognition of her long-standing expertise in the area, the American Bar Association appointed her to their National LRIS Committee, which oversees the certification of Lawyer Referral Services across the United States. In 2016, Ann was appointed to a 5-year term on the State of Wisconsin’s newly-formed State Elections Commission, and currently serves as its vice-chair. She is also on the board of Wisconsin Equal Justice Fund.
A passionate litigator, Ann is committed to assisting others both inside and outside the courtroom. She is a frequent guest speaker to attorneys across the country and is also an accomplished author. Ann is one of the original authors of the Wisconsin Juvenile Law Handbook, published by the State Bar of Wisconsin. She also co-wrote the chapter on pain and suffering in the “Law of Damages” book as well as a chapter in the State Bar Book, “Advising Older Clients in Wisconsin,” which addresses negligence claims.
Ann is a 1992 Cum Laude graduate of the University of Wisconsin Law School. She speaks Spanish and is a member of the Wisconsin Hispanic Lawyers Association. Ann is a life-long resident of Milwaukee, residing on the east side with her husband and three children.
