Joseph W. Voiland is a shareholder in the Litigation group at Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren. Mr. Voiland counsels financial professionals in litigation involving securities and investments, employee benefits, accounting, and actuarial science.
Joe has been a special prosecutor for the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office in the prosecution of cases against parents of abused or neglected children; counsel to the State of Wisconsin in the litigation regarding the State's 2011 congressional and legislative redistricting; counsel to incumbent Justice David Prosser before the Waukesha County Board of Canvassers during the statewide recount of the 2011 Wisconsin Supreme Court election; and counsel to the campaign for governor in Green for Wisconsin v. State Elections Board. Previously, he served as law clerk at the Wisconsin Supreme Court to Justice Diane S. Sykes, now judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
Joe has been a guest lecturer at Marquette University Law School; associate editor of the Marquette Law Review; research assistant to Professor Joseph D. Kearney, now Dean of the Marquette Law School; and co-chair of the Civil Litigation Section of the Milwaukee Bar Association.
Joe served as a Lieutenant in the United States Navy aboard the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz and has continued to give his time to public service matters, notably in areas involving constitutional law. He is a member of the American Legion and the Republican National Lawyers Association.
In his free time, Joe coaches for the Grafton Soccer Club and is General Counsel to Grafton Baseball, Inc.
