Best DUI lawyer in Wisconsin

Finding myself in a first ever DUI case at age 62 I sought advice from area attorneys on local versus statewide representation. Luckily, I was referred to Dennis because of his superb reputation. I am a local professional and was concerned I might be considered a higher profile case to the local DA.... Dennis was thorough with me, put me at ease, let me believe I would have the best possible defense and outcome. He knows the law, the judges tendencies and worked diligently to get my case dismissed. He was bulldog-like in pursuit of my innocence. I am immensely grateful and strongly recommend him.

Wow, a fighting change for your rights!!

Mr. Melowski was excellent to say the very least. After meeting with several reputable attorneys I knew that he was the only person for mine or any case. Knowledgeable beyond belief, he was able to give me hope when I had thought it was gone. His courtroom etiquette was amazing to watch, and in t...he end despite my charges he was able to get me the minimum in every aspect of the case. After witnessing him in action I believe that judges and district attorneys respect him for who he is and what he brings to the table. They certainly know he means business!

Dedicated. Committed. Knowledgeable. Personal.

Dedicated. Committed. Knowledgeable. Personal. These are just a few of the words I would use to describe Dennis Melowski. Make no mistake, without his expertise, I would have been a person with a jail record, serving time in an environment in which I could not have existed. Ranked in the top of h...is field in Wisconsin and one of the top eight in the nation, this man should definitely be your choice for a lawyer! I am a retired family man in my late 60's, held a responsible work position for 40 years and had a spotless driving record. The day I was charged, I made a terrible mistake and I choose to drive while I was impaired. Facing a serious charge of OWI causing an injury, in addition to a BAC of over .15, I was stunned and devastated. We sought the help of a family member who was a lawyer. Understanding the severity of the consequences in the tough county where the incident occurred, he immediately suggested we retain the services of Dennis Melowski as he was the best man for the job. We did our research and scheduled an appointment. Upon meeting Dennis, we immediately felt confident in our choice. Dennis told us up front that we would have a tough battle as the injury in addition to the standard penalties for the OWI charge included me facing mandatory jail time. Dennis said our goal was to avoid the jail time associated with the charge. As our court dates continued, Dennis said that because of the tenuous nature of the case, he would advise not going to trial---we stood the chance of not avoiding jail time if we did indeed lose. Dennis was able to get the prosecutor to agree to a plea agreement that included the standard penalties for the OWI charge, but stayed the mandatory 60 days of jail time and instead added a one year probation period with absolute sobriety. We agreed to the terms of the plea to avoid the jail time. This agreement in itself was a victory as this county NEVER before has excluded jail time in this type of case. Prior to the sentencing, Dennis wrote an amazing letter to the judge voicing reasons and pleading for the probation itself to be reduced. On the day of sentencing, he pleaded my case and I as well gave a heartfelt statement to the court. The judge told me I was extremely lucky to have such a great lawyer on my side. He then reduced my sentence further and threw out the probationary period as well...a double victory. Dennis' reputation is well deserved. He has my highest respect not only as a lawyer but as a person. He is a dedicated to his clients, committed to seeking the best he can in the case and always available to answer each and every question you might have. In addition, he is simply a great person. There should be no doubt in your mind-if you want the best, Dennis Melowski is your man. I will long remember and thank Dennis for saving me and my family, allowing me to live a normal life.

My 2am Dui case in Sheboygan

I received 2 tickets in sheboygan at 2am in the morning. One for refusing the breathalyzer and I refused the bloodwork at the hospital, wich I was forced to take anyway. Me, being from out of state did'nt realize the serious trouble that I had just got into. Even if I beat the breathalyzer, the second... ticket was more serious than the first. I was pulled over because I had a front headlight out. I am very orderly and before the officer came to my window I had my license and registration ready along with the windows down. This was in july of 2012. I felt like I passed the sobriety test. I completed the whole thing including standing on 1 leg. The sarge said i failed and then told me about the blood test.i said no to that also, only to have to take it a couple of hours later at the hospital. I was a 1.0. I looked on the web and was very fortunate to have chosen Dennis Melowski. I never had to appear for 3 court sessions, untill I got a call from Dennis that I should come for a court date that was pretrial motions. Dennis had several good ones that he showed me. We went to court and the sarge and the states attorney were there. I play a lot of chess and can even beat lower levels of computers at chess. What I saw Dennis unfold was a master at his art of his dui defense. He was at least 7 or 8 moves ahead of the sarge and the states attorney. He went thru the whole case of my arrest from the beginning to end and even got the officer to admit on the stand that he was going to arrest me for dui, even before I actually was. I am 63 years old and Dennis even had statistics showing that some senior citizens can't pass that test sober. When the officer seen me with a headlight out he pulled a U turn and came right around me and flipped the lights on, so the police's own video showed no swerving and I pulled over to the curve without hitting it or too far from it.The officer also said I stumbled when I got out, wich was a clear lie as Dennis was playing the officer's camcorder video to all of us. After Dennis was done presenting the 3 pretrial motions and the da was done, the Judge found there was no probable cause to pull me out of the vehicle for the breath or blood work. The officer never even wrote a ticket for the headlight being out, so there I was, scott free ! No war whoops or fist pumping by me tho, wich was good, because I soon found out the da could still have it reviewed or possibly another judge look at the case in the next 20 days. Dennis had blew there case up so well that we never heard a word from the states attorney again. Dennis also had a stategy for if things did not go our way, especially for out of state people. If things went sour for my case, I found out my home state and insurance company would be licking there chops when they got notified by the wi. court what happened. I came close to pleading my case down whatever I could with the da, in exchange for a guilty plea. I had never been thru this process before, but look no farther tha Dennis Melowski. Once you talk to him you will begin to feel better right away. Remember also, there are no 2 dui alike cases. Dennis is a master of getting all the details and then engineering a case from the bottom up. He is not cheap, but by the pleading down thought I had was going to cost me a lot more and have guilty on my record, wich never goes away. So if you find yourself in my situation, don't walk, run to his office and start talking to him. Your initial consultation is free and then you decide!! Pay him to take your case or get wrung thru the total ringer and end up paying more by the time all the fines and insurance costs add up in the next 5 years. Mark

Professional and knowledgeable

In April of this year,I was pulled over by the police for DUI/DWI. A lawyer who was handling my divorce at the time recommended a lawyer he knew well who handled DUI/DWI. I met with this lawyer but did not feel comfortable with him as my attorney representing me in this case. He said I should get a s...econd opinion and meet with another lawyer. He suggested Dennis Melowski. I called Mr. Melowski to schedule a meeting so we could review my case. I did some inquiries into Mr. Melowski's reputation in handling DUI/DWI cases and in every instance my inquiries came back as Mr. Melowski was the best DUI/DWI lawyer in the state. From our initial meeting I knew I wanted Dennis Melowski to represent me. He immediately put me at ease and I could recognize his professionalism and knowledge of the law. I have a commercial drivers license for my job so I couldn't afford to lose my license if found guilty. With Mr. Melowski hard work and dedication,I was able to keep my commercial drivers license and my job leading up until my court date. As of this past Thursday,I was informed by Mr. Melowski that in working with the district attorney, the charge had been reduced to inattentive driving and I would not lose my license or my job and would not have to go through a court trial. I cannot begin to describe the tremendous weight that has been lifted off my shoulders. Anyone who reads this review if you need the best DUI/DWI lawyer in the state of Wisconsin make sure that your first call is to Dennis Melowski. I heard he was the best lawyer and look at my results. He simply is the finest lawyer to handle your DUI/DWI case.
